As an experienced DJ and producer hailing from the french rave & techno scenes. Umwelt is a truly rare underground artist and an important and prolific electronic producers.

His productions play the card of a specific and dystopian electro-techno sound. He always delivers a fierce, dark and cinematographic music at the crossroads between the classics and an assumed modernity. His last techno album released on Dax J's label Monnon Black "Dead Eyes Society" (2022) is the perfect illustration of his huge ability of bringing people all together in different moods.

On his own labels Rave Or Die and New Flesh Records, he has released music by 999999999 ,Ancient Methods, I Hate Model, Jacidorex, Nite Fleit, Oscar Mulero, Sunil Sharpe , Stranger ,Terence Fixmer, The Exaltics... Umwelt is also very solicited for his remixes for artists from different horizon, like, The Hacker, Marc Acardipane, Mercury 200, Salome, Tensal...

During the last years Umwelt has also travelled the world, resident curator at Le Sucre he has also played in a lot of major clubs and festivals like Tresor, Berghain, RSO, Bassiani, Khidi, Kalt, Rex, Fabric, Fold, Nitsa, Razzmatazz, Lanna, Industrial Copera, Unter (ny), Closer (ua), Nuits Sonores, Ombra, Dekmantel, Drift, Positive Education, Astropolis, Dour... to name a few.

SUBSTENCIA is a musician, producer and DJ based in Paris. Her music-loving background soon led her to get involved in the electronic scene in various forms: labels, webzines, and event organization. 

Since 2017, she has been creating dark industrial techno music productions, infused with a lot of cinematics, collages, noise, released on with several EP's, compilations and remixes on labels as Instinkt, Coup, Subverted, Culture of Violence, Durch, Drec, Glanz + Elend, or Swedish label Kallkällan where she released in 2022 her third EP supported by many international artists.

Highly personal and instinctive, her approach to music has developed over the years through constant practice and listening. Pure industrial music, dark ambient, neofolk, 90’s techno and baroque music: her many influences give to her DJ sets a cinematic, organic and intense dimension.
SUBSTENCIA regularly shares her passion for music across France, and has performed at parties and festivals such as Château Perché and FIFIB in Bordeaux, as well as iconic clubs in Europe, including Tresor in Berlin, Elipamanoke in Leipzig and Moog in Barcelona.

Since 2021, she has been part of the post-industrial noise duo Kabocha, who released their first EP, 'Human Exceptionalism', on their own label in April 2023 and they played several live performances in Paris.
Recently she launched the project Rust, a new webzine dedicated exclusively to alternative electronic music, with interviews, reviews, DJ charts, and more.

It has been two years since the first compilation on the Various Artists series (PEVA) of Pi Electronics and the concept has stayed true to its aim: to present a coherent selection of the label’s favourite collaborators from the roster and parties over the years. Bringing together Greek and international artists, this compilation opens with a 10 minute recording by the combined forces of Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick), from a live performance recorded in Amsterdam. Meanwhile we also showcase the resurfacing of Vofa, the joint project of producers Sawf and ANFS. There is a variety of options in this 13 tracks release; from the raw and harsh textures of An-i and New Frames, to Lycurgus live drum set recordings, Kondaktor’s African percussive electronics and Sarin’s EBM infused techno. Some more techno interpretations, such as the hypnotic moods of Stave and Fragedis, or the more punchy sounds of Restive Plaggona and Poison Green.
