We have been writing and recording together in some form or another for 10 years. For many of those years we called ourselves October Surprise and recorded primarily indie rock. In 2013, we found ourselves changing our writing process, making our own samples and using them to sculpt and explore our compositions. We found that we were able to dream up swirling, feverish clouds of music like some of our favorite electronic musicians.  Polluted synths, layered drums, and humming bass lines replaced our standard instruments. 

This freeing, new process gave way to a new project we decided to call Blank Brothers due to the fact that we’ve written together for so long. We released our first album, called Fade Soul, under the Blank Brothers moniker in 2014. A year later, we released our second album, Peak Hour Color. Most recently, we released a series of weekly singles, which we have compiled into an album entitled, "Placeholders" which is available wherever music is sold and streamed. 

Now in 2017, we've scattered into our real lives, a new project called Local Phonies [ https://soundcloud.com/localphonies ] arose from some correspondence.
