Now in its 200th instalment, this Podcast has given voice to a diverse offering of global talents across the musical spectrum, from the democratic rhythms of zeitgeist appropriate techno and house through to more avant-garde synthwork.

This next guest has cast a large shadow over the technosphere, so large in fact, that no introduction could fully encompass the breadth of his achievements. But in brief: Ben Klock is a titan whose formative years were spent playing marathon mixes to the crowds at Berlin’s (then recently opened) Berghain. Off the back of his endurance sets and the club’s success he became a household name whose influence grew to be felt across the world, with a body of work that includes appearances at an exhaustive list of clubs and festivals, a number of hot releases on Ostgut Ton and an equally respected self-run label (Klockworks) to boot. On this second imprint, his own productions have repeatedly seen the light of day, alongside those from the likes of DVS1, Sterac, Stef Mendesidis and younger talents like Temudo and Vil & Cravo. The sound, ubiquitous as it is, will be familiar to anyone involved in the world of electronic music and there’s good reason for that: Klock’s deep and percussive work and ability to pull from a wide range of influences have earmarked him as a unique agent for the techno cause. Atmospheric and delivered with hammering force, Klock’s refined palette for rhythms is as relevant now as ever. Ahead of this weekend’s Bassiani booking, Berghain resident Fadi Mohem delivers a masterful blend of large scale rhythms for Bassiani Podcast 247. Raised in the leafy suburb of Spandau, the native Berliner always had the very best of nightlife within easy reach: exposure to drum ‘n’ bass, Detroit, the dubby incarnations of Basic Channel and IDM meting out references for a personal distillation of sound that saw him go from techno acolyte and sound engineering student to folk mainstay in just a few years. A stint at cult vinyl purveyor Hard Wax and the tutelage and encouragement of Ben Klock (they met in 2016) have permeated his work even further. From his alma mater to Dekmantel and beyond, his is a lexicon comprised of rhythmic loops and heavily stylised snarls that ripple, echo and penetrate the body; a catalyst for mental and physical experience that’s forward-looking and deeply intuitive. This latest one’s a 92 minute compilation of Mohem’s favourite sounds, an avatar for his high-concept sonic palette, assembly line beats from this nonpareil Berlin selector.

Under his pen name Chlär, Charles Accarisi sets forth with a full rig manifestation of techno that jolts from one trunk-rattler to the next. From his native Switzerland to his adoptive home Berlin, the potency of his sound has followed him and grown ever larger, an assertive strain of dyed-in-the-wool techno that’s groovy and layered as a mountain rock. Working over and above his standard DJ duties, across A&R, events and sound engineering, Chlär practices full-involvement in much of the music pipeline, starting with his own sound and that of new finds and ending with the music’s final dialogue in public space. He’s been keeping busy, and as half of Funk Assault, co-runner of Bipolar Disorder Rec and founder of Primal Instinct his plate’s more than full, but his just-released first full album on the latter label shows little signs he’s tiring. The Architects of Shadows explores current political and sociological themes as broad as nationalism and social atomisation, rifts that through his many roles in music, he’s working hard to bridge. The promise of that newly connected world comes alive through the primacy of his beats, looping, packed with meaning but immediate nonetheless. Bassiani Podcast 248 is an hour and a half of dizzying basslines and all encompassing loops that bear witness to Chlär’s undeniable skill as techno selector. These are future-ready beats from a techno polymath.

A true driving force both within and beyond the South-American techno ecosystem, Zisko graces us with two hours of clinically laid down big-room punch and genre-unbound, off-kilter rhythms on steroid. Championing a sound both highly intense and surgically precise, the Argentinian DJ and producer has us surfing a rogue wave of frenzied analogue funk, sci-fi-informed industrial pound and proto-electroid impulsions. Not one for the faint-hearted, Zisko’s mix is galloping techno at its most eruptively driving and merciless, bound for heavy-duty, mid-set apexes and hi-impact mosh pits down the basement. Total smasher beware, this one’s cut from the heaviest alloy.

@philippapacho is like a musical Swiss knife: she has exactly the right tool for every occasion, from warm-ups to peak time to wonky afters. It was a long residency at Under Bron in her native Stockholm that equipped her with those skills, and since moving to Berlin, she's gone on to make her mark across Europe playing all forms of techno. Late last year, Pacho launched her own label Phorum Records as a further extension of her sound, and she also curates tracks and parties under the Positive Source banner.

This August, Pacho joins us at Amsterdamse Bos for Dekmantel 2025 but first serves up this deeply cerebral trip into Millsian techno. It's a high-speed selection of sleek and synth-laced sounds rich in narrative, be that mind-melting urgency, more dark and moody undercurrents or a sense of cosmic unknown. Utterly timeless and effortless classic, this is techno in its most futuristic form.

Morgenstern returns after a long hiatus with Phantom Pulse, a nine-track statement shaped over two years beneath Berlin’s strobelights. Each piece reflects a period of transformation, distilling the energy of countless nights into a focused and personal sound. Three remixes by KaioBarssalos, Noah Tauber and Nihil expand the release with their own distinctive voices. All three have been part of the GTG story, and their return gives this project a special weight. Phantom Pulse closes the year with intent.
