His productions, known for their experimental merging of elements from hypnotic, industrial, and intelligent dance music, have landed him releases with labels including Edit Select, Peer Audio, and Crisis of Man. Most recently, he was invited to tour North America with Richie Hawtin as a core artist on the From Our Minds ‘To Be Announced’ warehouse tour.

With 20 plus something years in the game, Mike has handled many roles in the industry. From running an artist management agency in the early 2000’s, promoting events, DJ’ing and producing, Mike has done a lot and seen a lot. Mike’s DJ sets are unique with a blend of deep, hypnotic, spaced out and driving style of techno.

In 2017, he launched his label, Northern Parallels. Focusing on deep, trippy, spaced out, hypnotic techno. The label features well respected veteran producers DJ Hyperactive, Dustin Zahn, Myles Serge, Hiroko Yamamura, Ray Kajioka and up and coming producers Jason Patrick, Allana Letm, Lindsey Herbert Joshua Calleja with also providing a home for new faces that are making exceptional music.

With a turntable experience stretching back several decades, his prowess in the craftsmanship of music mixing is beyond doubt.

That is why we have chosen him to be the author, yes author, of this complex piece of music that results from the combination of the productions that he himself has chosen from our catalog.

Throughout the footage of this mix, 40 skilfully intertwined excerpts sound that provide a personal and non-transferable vision of the label's catalog, techno in all its forms and manifestations in a unique sound journey.

The pieces of the puzzle fit together perfectly, as part of the same whole that the artists who have donated their art to us have composed individually. What a better way to celebrate these first five years of Koryu Budo!

We are infinitely grateful for the talent and dedication of all the participants in this adventure, from the graphic part to this compilation in the form of a mix by Héctor, which will be released in limited cassette format.

Étam, from Barcelona (Spain), was born in Santander but has lived like a globetrotter, spending time in cities like Belgrade, Oslo, Tarragona, and now residing in the Barcelona area. A humble lover of electronic music since childhood, he gradually found his way to deeper, darker techno, where he truly feels at home.
Étam is known for creating long mixes that highlight careful equalization, allowing the music to breathe and take listeners on a sonic journey. In 2022, he and his brother Jorge launched their own record label Loopaina Records, striving to carve out a place in the competitive techno scene, which is dominated by established artists’ labels.

Carlos, aka Toltech, is a disciple of the old-school Montréal techno scene, who seamlessly blends Mesoamerican influences with a spectrum of techno styles, from hypnotic, industrial and raw to funky and hardgroove. His music is meant to guide listeners through a range of moods, from somber, hypnotic rhythms to vibrant grooves such as that, before you know it, has gotten your body to move.

"This nearly 2-hour mix is a journey through the diverse range of techno sounds I stand for, featuring a few of my own studio productions. While I explore different sonic landscapes—from the smoother, somber, darker side to the harder, more clangy, without leaving the groovy vibes behind—the focus always remains on the ultimate goal: keeping the dancefloor moving. Marteka Fair is a DJ and producer from North Carolina whose work explores rhythm as both structure and sensation. Her background in acoustic percussion informs a deeply-embedded control of time in her sets—favoring nonlinear layering, tonal restraint, and kinetic tension.

Marteka is an active performer in the United States. Her performance resume features direct support sets for forward-listening electronic artists like Rrose, Rødhåd, DVS1, and Bloody Mary, as well as performances at Slingshot Festival and The Great Beyond. In the digital domain, she has recorded and released mixes for HÖR, Refuge Worldwide, and THF Radio, expressing sharp rhythmic architecture and hypnotic intensity through these recordings.

In March 2025, she released a four-track EP titled “Ether” on Berlin-based W133—raw, spacious, and deeply rhythmic, with an emphasis on percussive structure and temporal tension. She is also co-creating Liminal Space, a live concert series with visual artist Fluxxss that merges sound and image into a shared, sensory environment.
