Vansita Sessions 04 - Banff

Equally as creative as a solo artist as he is working alongside a selection of regular collaborators, San Francisco’s Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, continues to expand his rich discography of quality productions across house, techno, minimal and beyond. Fresh from a run of releases on his home imprint Extrasketch, September sees Rasse back alongside fellow studio partner and Alphahouse alumnus Andras Toth as the pairing return to the label for the fifth time with ‘Reaction’. 

Opener ‘The King Is Dead’ is a low-slung minimal production peppered with punchy tribal drums and icy hats, while ‘Weather The Storm’ remains decidedly deep but takes the energy up with a driving bassline and off-kilter rolling percussion, creating a snaking, hazy groove. ‘New York New York’ is a freeform funky tech house cut, with acid-fuelled stabs and warping electronics which create a smoky late-night affair.  ‘Elevate’ sees the pair dive deep into a drummy, cascading trip through hypnotic heavy metallic techno textures. To close, ‘Little Reminder’ mixes playful organic tones with a heady groove to offer up a certified after-hours cut.

Emblematic DJ and producer Martin Buttrich releases his first body of work under his alias Stoned Autopilot. Son of Sunshine is a single from his LP Light Vessel Automatic, showcasing a more down-tempo and dreamy side of the German artist.

Son of Sunshine opens with a low-slung bassline and chugging kickdrum, setting a laidback vibe. A twinkly melody winds through the atmosphere, evoking a blissed-out mood. Shimmering with radiant energy, it’s a tune that feels warm and balmy, conveying a palm-tree-lined soundscape. A slice of paradise at just over three minutes.

Peruvian based dj, producer and sound engineer that started his journey from early 2000s. This vinyl lover sharpens his sound adventuring on many venues of the underground scene in Lima-Peru devoted to Chicago acid, hypnotic house, dub, minimal and Detroit techno. Jung’s work will continue injecting deep atmospheres, thanks to a new slew of sharing passion and ideals towards dance music.

Erick Jung, delivers his first Mix lately this year exploring different rhythms and textures within the realm of dance music. The mix has a minimal hypnotic raw vibe and jumps between different shades of house, Detroit techno and breaks. Fast paced swinging beats, futuristic percussions, driving bass lines, jazzy atmospheres and hints of soul give off a particular, yet engaging motif to the soundscape of this mix set. This is an accurate reflection of what Erick expresses which results in an immersive and captivating journey for the listener.
