A collaboration that began in October 2019, with a single vocal take recorded by Jerry Quickley, separated in different sections, in which he whispers/repeats "the fires keep coming", spits out rhymes about "sailing flames on paperboats", and in a final bit, acts out a report of "waves of fire" ravaging Los Angeles, engulfing him in his last interrupted line.

Initially planned for a cursed, upcoming experimental-rap/poetry album by Joni Void that includes many other featurings, the instrumental reflects Jerry's vocal intensity and fire imagery with a fury of samples such as the video-game series Doom that is directly referenced, the drumming of Hamid Drake, voices & noises from selected New Japan releases...

With the September 2020 fire outbreaks in California, resulting in many images of California shrouded in doomy Orange skies & surrounded by fiery landscapes, both artists agreed that it would make sense to release their collaborative effort prematurely, having eerily predicted that exact imagery a year prior.
