Here at Moontown we have been fans of Brisbanes Laura Hill (Scraps) since discovering her 7" Secret Paradise on Disembraining Machine back in 2012. From there we moved back and forth through her discography and even brought her to Canberra a few times ~ Needless to say we had become intrigued, obsessed and addicted to the mysterious world of SCRAPS.

TTNIK (pronounced Titanic) is her latest full length, its a hard one to pin down - Call it club music with luscious cosmic sunburn ~ Addictive, playful and sludgy synth pop that works just as well in a club setting as it does booming through the walls of a dilapidated weatherboard queenslander on a steamy afternoon.

It is an absolute pleasure and honour to be releasing SCRAPS latest album TTNIK through Moontown ~ We hope you enjoy just as much as we do.

Original mix from Melbourne electronic musician @FiaFiell, aka Carolyn Schofield (also of Rolling Mass). Combining her practical and theoretical knowledge as a pianist and composer with a modern ear on millennial electronic music constructs, Schofield crafts beautiful and transcendent ambient soundscapes.

'Habitual Movement' is a mix of synth improvisation edits made over 2014 to 2016, spanning from ambient pieces to more noisy, drone-based recordings. The music Fia Fiell makes is strongly rooted in improvisation, although finished pieces may build on and develop improvised recordings. This mix thus represents Fiell's music in its more undeveloped state, using excerpts that usually wouldn’t be heard publicly and she has mostly forgotten ever existed.

Forgoing traditional melody and song-writing, Esker’s distinctive sound focuses on the interplay between noise, texture and rhythm. Voitax is happy to present her stunning debut EP, which was assembled from various recording sessions over the past two years.

The closing track “D-E-F” is a techno whirlwind. It is minimalistic in the number of sonic elements audible at any given time, but each is brandished with such devastating effectiveness that the pressure keeps climbing and climbing. Bleak, stark and foreboding, it is a nod to the heyday of 90’s warehouse techno and simultaneously, a step into imagined dance floors of the future.

øjeRum "A Certain Grief"

All sounds were recorded at Paw Gabrowski's (øjeRum) his girlfriends parents house. They live remote in the country side and have a really old pump organ in the living room. It's a really old house and in winter they only heat up this room for special occasions. He recorded this two winters ago in freezing cold, with gloves on and candlelights. All background sounds are the actual sounds that were in the house while recording; the creaking chair, the crackling and pumping of the organ, the everyday noises of the family talking and working in the kitchen next door.
