Whiskey Pickle Records has positioned itself as a stronghold for weirdo, psychedelic, deep and beatdown sounds coming straight from the heart of Texas. Over the course of seven years, the indie label has built a stable of artists that both showcase the Lone Star State and encompasses a-list and global acts alike. Having hosted the likes of Gavin & Robbie Hardkiss, Sleazy McQueen, Walter Jones, The Funk District, B.G. Baarregaard, James Curd, Steve Cobby, Q-Burns Abstract Message, as well as label heads Johnny Blackouts and RiCHARD.GEAR.

Here, Whiskey Pickle presents it’s 30th release with a celebratory, various artists compilation that features label stalwarts P-Rez, Jake Childs, and Schugar(donning his Llama A moniker) plus fresh faces Without Wax, David Ricardo, Ben Davidson, and Jorgito. Rounding out the release are appearances from Leeds very own Al Bradley (as Audiotonic), Texan goth trio The Fallen, and a righteous collaboration from Used Manatee Salesman and Daniel Allen. In typical, Whiskey Pickle fashion, all rules are thrown out the door with this genre-busting compilation that refuses to be pigeon-holed. Expect plenty of heavy rhythms and cosmic grooves as they offer their “XXX” rated, 30th release.

It has been almost 6 years since our last release on our sub-imprint Supérieur, which was reserved for special and very unique tracks needing a special placement.

Lars von Licht’s "From Arrows“ is exactly one of this sort: An almost 15min live jam, both simple and sophisticated. A track for special moments and for special people, perfect for reanimating Supérieur. One of the first persons whom I gave this tune last year's summer was Lee Burridge, who played it straight away at Burning Man.

Admittedly, this release took some time, but we wanted to find the right moment and the right remixer. We considered many options but came back to one of our own people in the end.

Dodi Palese who released his Connaisseur debut earlier this year, felt like the right person to challenge this track and we were right. He has transformed it into a tribalistic high energy bomb, with an unexpected, big synth theme, blowing you away.

Yes, we are more than happy about this release and it was well worth the wait.

A new project of Luv Shack Records’ Curley Sue & Lee Stevens (1/2 of Space Echo) Neon Amish have delivered one heck of an EP for us here at Sprechen which sounds like something from a lost John Carpenter movie of the mid 80’s.

Tranceptor sets it stall out from the beginning…thudding arp bassline, snappy percussion and then some shabby piano chords tell you all you need to know…oh and it also has some baddass orchestra strings for added ace-ness!

Interstate 95 definitely sounds like something from the setlist of that disco off Buck Rogers (check YouTube)…sequenced bass pattern, big reverb snares, synth stabs with a couple of killer drops oh and a vocal that sounds suspiciously like a certain pointy eared Vulcan…this shit is most definitely logical!

Heroes of Sprechen 005, Gameboyz give Tranceptor a full on Techno makeover and drag it kicking & screaming in through the gates of Berghain for some twisted dark room action whilst on Interstate 95 we see Sprechen’s very own Chris Massey (with a little help from Andy Meecham/Chicken Lips/Emperor Machine) turn Interstate 95 into a wibbly wobbly, sweat soaked drencher that will tick all the boxes for all the subterranean soirees out there.

The Copenhagen based DJ and producer follows up on his smash ‘M25’ from earlier in the year with a sick, driving piece of techno-pop that references 80s new wave, synth pop, dark disco and proto house in one perfect package.

The ‘Foot Mix’ of ‘IO’ focuses in on the bass pressure, extending the intro before releasing the beat and 303 hooks - it’s brief 4 minutes balancing out Brynjolfur’s epic title track.

Ahead of the release of his sophomore album, "Sea Monster", Russian DJ/Producer Kito Jempere is back with a new single from it. That single is Ampa and it comes with killer remixes from Black Spuma (Lauer and Mammarella) and Miskotom.
Jempere has been making music for more than a decade and is a talented multi-instrumentalist as well as producer. He has been involved in a number of bands from punk rock to electronic to acid jazz and makes music under many different aliases from DJ Kirill Sergeew to The Saint Petersburg Disco Spin Club. He runs his own label Fata Morgana and also puts out music on Bahnsteig 23, Freerange, Let’s Play House, Pleasure Unit as well as Hell Yeah. Now again playing live with a band that can involve up to 11 people, he is a big favourite for clubs like Watergate and Salon Zur Wilden Renate. 
First to remix are "International Feel"'s duo Black Spuma aka Fabrizio Mammarella and Phillip Lauer. Their first vocal mix reimagines the track as a wild cut with pumped up and jacking drums and lashings of acid that is brillaint unhinged. A second version from the duo and premiered here is a smoother dub, with cosmic pixelated melodies raining down from above. Out 16/12/2017

Machinegewehr tells a tale of interstellar love with his third EP for Bordello A Parigi, The Cordyceps. Four glimmering works make up this star crossed story of electro disco. The listener is wrapped in warmth from the outset with the sweetened vocals and clean synths of the title piece. “Shivergold”, with its lush pads and arpeggios, pulls you to the floor before the pulsating grooves of “Knight 634” take hold. The final embrace comes with the soothing sounds of “A Girl You Know”. A lost romance from distant world, a kiss goodbye.
