"Typically my mixes begin with a concept that comes from two or three tracks between which I can envision some kind of conversation. For this one it's the Burial, Botany, and Dirk Leyers tracks. The common thread is a combination of really nice, tactile-sounding samples and a great use of negative space. They unfold slowly, but refuse to just be background music. There's an open quality to those tracks that I felt would be really fun to play with and blend together. Beyond that, I think there's a soothing, consolatory vibe to most of the mix, which I feel like we could all use at the moment. I like the shift in the second half toward more vocals, more "songs" if you will. The Durutti Column track has been a big favorite of mine for a while. Hope you enjoy!"
