Kiirm is an experimental club and hardcore DJ and producer from Berlin. Staying true to hardcore within the despise for it from Berlin's Techno scene is her effort to not deny parts of her history and present. With her first ever EP, she is proud to join the reimagining and developing of this proletarian music and culture.

The horror of sustaining yourself in this society as a trans person is the theme that guided Kiirm in the process of crafting this EP. Remaining hopeful and ecstatic about living is a monumental task in this mode of being that is only upheld through the repression of the brutal experiences that women are expected to swallow in their day-to-day lives. In an effort not to suffocate in repressed emotions, the output of Kiirms creative efforts usually turns to the dark, disturbing and frightening. Hardcore has always been accompanied by an exploration of the realm of horror. Join Kiirm in this sonic experience that serves her as a space to scream all the pain out. Itís her utmost effort to not end up as a cranky granny with too much repressed shit built up over the years to still be an enjoyable companion for years to come.

The numbing pleasure of club culture and its sins is what ÑGirl Giggleì is seeking out. The fragility of club connections, the coming down, and the anxiety that are part of the beautiful ecstasy, which is the night out with friends. All of this melts into a track of classic hardcore structure, enhanced with experimental production techniques.

The search for these pleasures cannot be separated from the deadness of everyday life. Where the worker looks to forget the contradictions of forced wage labor, queer nightlife seeks to exorcize yet more unbearable things. It is these things, such as the pressure to carve your skull, castrate, or let your bones be broken on purpose, that ÑSkulptì tries to capture. The track is imagined from the perspective of lying on the operating table to try and resemble your own idea of the woman you are. Even more, it is about the brutal realization, that you will never be able to sever this image of yourself from the one that society has imagined for you long before you were born.

Sueuga (she/her) @sueuga is a Mexican artist, DJ, and producer known for her releases on pivotal labels such as NAAFI, Hiedrah, Salviatek, Sacrilejio, Soul Feeder, Arboretum, and Precious Metals among the others. Now based in Amsterdam but raised in Oakland, California where she started her music career by collaborating with artists from the Neoperreo scene, Sueuga has been an important actress in the contemporary scene thanks to her experimental, mutant club outings primarily inspired by industrial music and dominated by unsettling atmospheres, ferocious drums, and abrasive textures. We’re very excited to announce the release of her new “Conflict Areas” EP that will be out on Friday, February 16th.

The 5-tracker opens up with a short and eerie introduction called “Dragged” which indeed abruptly drags the listener into a perilous sound journey composed of explosive rhythmic discharges that also extend to the second and third tracks, the titular “Conflict Areas” and “Heat Therapy”. Thanks to its extensively variegated yet immediately accessible and catchy compositions, Sueuga’s awe-inspiring work manages to summon dark, infernal scenarios while also envisioning bright futures of long-awaited victory, offering a commentary on the existential struggle of unconditionally and wholeheartedly affirming one’s existence in turbulent, oppressive times. With its sense of unavoidable and relentless tension, the entire EP is an act of belligerent resistance in sound form.

The two final tracks host collaborations with the founder of the overmybody.tw label, Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N @bedoublensound, and Duma’s noise/metal experimental musician Sam Karugu, respectively. While the first one (“Hidden Fees”) indulges into the heavy-hitting, cadenced percussive progressions previously shown in the rest of the EP (and here enriched by deep, bursting basslines and a ghastly melody), the latter (“MMXXIII”) provides a free-form anthem for all the metalheads where rumbling distortion and eerie vocals meet incessant lamentations and gurgling noise in the background.

Blastto's life has always been linked to club culture and electronic music. In his case literally: his father was the manager of a club in Guadalajara, where, from very early on, Blastto could be found behind the decks. For the last five years he has lived in London, a city from where he curates the Total Trax platform, carefully labeled with the aesthetics of video games of the 90's and music heavily influenced by rave, gabber and trance, especially clear in his own productions. A producer and restless activist, Blastto has also released on other platforms of note such as Nightwaves' Heka Trax and is also co-founder of Brrrrrap, a collective that was born from the union of several blogs, resulting in an event that has hosted Mumdance, Teki Latex or L-Vis 1990, among others. His most recent EP Las Palomas has received the support of scene agitators such as Lorenzo Senni and Danny L Harle, and reflects the golden age of clubs in Spain in the 90's and 2000's - a moment that marked Blastto uniquely and which he has reinterpreted with a totally avant-garde and very personal style.
