It's not unusual for a grime MC to also turn their hand to production - look at Wiley and Skepta, after all. Tottenham's Blay Vision is another man of these dual talents, responsible for one of the best instrumental grime mixtapes of last year ('The Vision'). Having received props from some of the grime scene's biggest and best, Jme recently recognised Blay's unique vision, hopping on the addictive 'Gone Mad' for a verse. Almost entirely self-produced, 'Turner Ave' is Blay's debut album on J-Cush's Lit City Trax that sees him going for gold, spitting over his own beats as well as those of Mazza Beats and Teeza. Named after the street the MC/producer grew up on, the album is packed full of introspective lyricism, no-frills bangers and the video game stylings that informed his youth. There's even a halloumi-themed skit on there. Weed smokers anthem 'Normal', which we're thrilled to premiere now, has been produced by Dimez.

Blay Vision is the young Tottenham MC and producer rising up fast thanks to his rich instrumentals and no-holds barred lyrics.

His saturated, video-game inspired grime beats and select features have been tapped by the likes of Wiley, Skepta, Flirta D and more. With comparison’s being made to the US production phenomenon Metro Boomin, the scale of his production standard speaks for itself. His tunes are immersive and expansive, as evidenced on his acclaimed ‘The Vision’ mixtape last year.

His debut album, 'Turner Ave’, showcases his skills behind the mic and behind beats. According to the press release, ‘Turner Ave’ is, “the product of years of introspection, growing up in London, in a city full of big business, heritage & power.”

It’s also where he spent his formative years, growing up to the bars of JME, his now collaborator and one of the biggest names in grime. Jumping on for a verse of ‘Gone Mad’, the pair croon over a floaty, experimental instrumental.

Likewise, in ‘Amnesia’, the track we're premiering today, the icy, old school vibe echoes of FWD>>, with gritty vocals and a careful pace to keep the track dark and dangerous.
