We love a rebel song, especially on St. Patrick's Day! Originally written in 1861, this account of a County Wexford rebel in the 1798 rising manages to be exciting, bracing, and heartwarming in the ringing bass voice of our man Sam Atwood. as recorded live at the Gulu-Gulu Cafe. 

According to tradition, rebels carried barley groats to eat on the march, which would spring from their unmarked mass graves and feed the next generation of freedom fighters. The image for this song is the original Starry Plough flag of the Irish Citizens' Army, the crew of trade unionists lead by James Connolly in the 1916 Easter Rising.
