First of my Homestuck Undertale AU. It's basically a "Trolls and Humans shared Sburb session" combined with "Skaia universe logic follows Undertale's". No Classpects, or Godtiers, just Soul Traits. Eventually, a real player does enter Skaia though.

This particular track takes place on a No Mercy route, as Vriska mourns the corpses of her friends and the player interrupts (rainbow blood, prism, funny pun).

Asriel's Ultimate Self is a combination of Flowey and Chara's mindsets. They act as the narrator for the timelines of Stuck Under Paradox set in the Homestuck universe. (Because Ult!Dirk and Chara are the narrator of HS:BC and Undertale respectively) Because of knowing and having experienced every possible timeline, Asriel chooses to engage with reality as an outsider. They take the appearance of the God of Hyperdeath form, and are a Prince of Time (one who detroys time/through time).

I can’t say anything story related because I am no longer affiliated with the AU. What I can say was that this was over half a year of work and I’ve learned a lot. I got pretty emotional and pushy at points. I also really upped my skills in art and music a hell of a whole lot. I pushed the engine I used to its limits and will likely avoid team projects for a while. I still have another game cooking up, but after that who the hell knows. Maybe a Godot test project to feel out the engine, maybe helping out other UTC stuff. Whatever the case, this isn’t the end.

Uncreative I know. Soul color game uses soul trait for game over theme. I went with a very crunchy chiptune vibe though. 
The main soul trait’s power in the game would’ve been a Hollow Knight style focus healing. It wouldn’t require meter and would persist even if you stopped charging it (though it would slowly decay). You could also move while focused, but very slowly. Getting hit while charging would mean you take extra damage: the more charge, the more damage. It would also only heal you a little.

It was “too bowsery” and got scrapped. I always liked it. This would have played in a cathedral area which would’ve had two puzzles to open the gates to the final boss. The dialogue system for the game had two modes. A translucent fading in with rounded edges for diegetic text, and a translucent fading in with torn edges for narraChara equivalent text. The boxes were fully opaque in menus though.

A divisive track. I didn’t really like it but there was something there that kept me coming back. We kept it for a while but it was scrapped in favor of burningRegrets. The menus for this game were going to be in a book. It would flip between for options and it was really pretty looking. There were some design flaws that I was going to work on, but the current build was completely scrapped.

Another one of the first project tracks. I made a CORE style area for testing and it ended up being part of the story for a while. It got scrapped earlier on but I still think the aesthetics were on point. The other soul traits in this game were going to be Determination, and Integrity.

Determination would grant you I-Frames for about one and a half seconds when pressing Z. Your movement was unrestricted but the shield wouldn’t destroy projectiles or anything. It would simply let you run past them if you so wish. 

Integrity would have been standard jumping, but with more physics to them. Think Celeste. Also jumping would be mapped by pressing Z for those with more natural platformer inclinations.

One of the earliest tracks for the project. The New Home equivalent would be drenched in eternal rain. There would be a guard fortress and sewer subarea. The sewers got pretty far, but the guard fortress barely got anywhere.

One of the latest tracks for the project. I was dissatisfied with the old New Home track, so I made a new one. New Home was also expanded to have a blue slums area when this track was finished. I'm pretty proud of this one because it incorporates the introCutscene motif, the Dreemurr motifs, and all while still being a track that depicts the fear of the New Home citizens during this murder route.

The first draft of the royal guard fight theme. Still my favorite version. It takes a lot of inspiration from that one Symphony of the Night track. Dance of Gold, if I remember correctly.
Only four fights were actually finished for the game because we couldn’t settle on ideas we all liked. They were all for regular monsters anyways. Anyways, it's because of that that most of the work went into overworld with puzzles and areas to explore.

Wing Gaster - The Royal Scientist!

Chara had this great plan really. Start a Sburb session to destroy the world as we knew it, then execute a carefully crafted sequence of events to beat it. We planned to then use our newfound godlike abilities to create a perfect world. Chara ran the client program on a separate computer in our house, and I handled the server program. I was to follow the instructions we had come up with.

There is only one timeline where that plan actually worked.

I and Chara had researched Sburb for months, but in this timeline's initial session bootup, 13 year old me decided to be an IDIOT and deployed the cruxtruder on the wrong part of the balcony. It collapsed and Chara fell alongside the cruxtruder. As such, we did not prototype the drawing of our perfect vessel as planned. 

The meteors were coming. Toriel sacrificed herself to delay them with magic. We were running out of time. I ran downstairs to prototype the golden flowers in our family's garden instead, and rushed to alchemize our cruxite artifact: a locket. We opened the locket together and our house entered the Medium.
