For our 12th instalment we've invited Medha, a Leipzig based DJ. Besides DJing she is an event organizer at and member of the PVC Collective, and a co-host for the event series aequelis at Ifz.

Her inspiration for music is influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig club culture and scene. She plays a style that can be characterised by concise basslines and rougher elements, combined with deep and driving rhythms. 

Over the last years she has played in clubs such as Tresor Berlin, Ifz Leipzig, Sirococlub Madrid and Subradio in Barcelona.

“When I put together this mix, I wanted it to capture the essence of spring arriving. Each track was chosen to reflect the feeling of anticipation and renewal that comes with this season for me personally. I hoped that listening to it would make others feel like spring was just around the corner, bringing with it a sense of freshness and energy but still with the deepness of hypnotic techno.”

San Francisco raised, Berlin-based artist Chloe Lula is a resident DJ and releasing artist at Tresor. She's played at Berghain, Boiler Room, Movement Detroit, and countless clubs, festivals and parties across Asia, Europe, and, North and South America, becoming known for sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of rolling psychedelic techno. She has released on Tresor Records, Blueprint, and Falling Ethics, and will release an LP on MORD in November 2025. 

In addition to her career as a DJ and producer, Chloe is a classically trained cellist, and uses her instrument to record deconstructed tones and timbres that form the textural and atmospheric character of her releases for the dance floor. She is also a composer and released her debut instrumental full-length on James Ginzburg’s Subtext label late last year.

Este CD-Mix se extendió -a finales de los 90-  como la pólvora entre todo seguidor del buen Techno. No había radiocasete, walkman, loro, discman o minicadena que no propagase la pulcritud, seriedad, clase y atmósfera de este casi impecable set. En esos tiempos, la figura de Oscar Mulero estaba plenamente asentada en determinados sectores de la electrónica más incisiva y visceral; entre los más jóvenes - en los cuales me incluía yo - había un profundo interés en descubrir quién era este enigmático mezclador. Las cintas se pasaban de uno a otro, no sin antes añadir alguna acotación del estilo: "Flipas, el Mulero cómo reparte", "Vaya trisca", "zapatillón"...

 En mi caso, la primera mezcla fue con los temas sabiamente seleccionados en este cd. Como aún no tenía medios para comprar unos platos, disfrutaba de la ignorancia con una mesa sin ecualización, un discman y un cassette. Reproducía los temas de este set y jugaba a ser algo que aún me quedaba muy grande: DJ.

 Un año  más tarde, ya reconocía abiertamente mi intención de serlo, a la vez que distinguía plenamente la diferencia de estilos de cada uno de ellos, siendo Mulero uno de los selectores de artillería más finos y lineales, algo que me regaló varias conversaciones con artistas de A Coruña a pie de pista. "Parece que siempre está sonando el mismo tema, sigue una progresión perfecta" (les decía). 

 Este es mi particular tributo a uno de los mejores mezcladores que dio y dará este país.
