This third release of Black Lotus on Florian Meindl's FLASH Recordings enqueues in her reflection on space and physics and hypnotizes the listener in her usual kind. 

According to ancient and medieval science, Aether is the material that fills the region of the universe above the terrestrial sphere. 
In mythology it is seen as the personification of the heaven - the soul of the world and element of all life. An undetectable substance. 
The invisible material thought to permeate all the empty space in the universe. The pure air that the gods breathe in the heavens. 

Kicking off with the opening theme, with its wild synth hook and sweeping ride, ‘Aether’ induces a solid trip on the dancefloor. 

The second track explores deeper territories with its dynamic cymbals, spacey 303 textures and monotonous dark mood. 

Distant Signal is a supernatural story about incessant galactic bleeps, accompanied by heavy kicks and a highly energetic percussion. 

On remix duties, Jeff Rushin delivers a trippy vinyl version plus an additional digital bonus.

Lately, his focus has shifted towards a more stripped-back aesthetic, keeping the same clean, impactful sound at its core.

Working in a raw, aggressive, yet classically oriented style, Michel Lauriola is one the leaders of techno’s new school who’s paving the way for a new generation of artists who innovate and expand the genre’s possibilities, while maintaining firm roots in 90s era templates,.

As a DJ, Michel has played every notable venue in South America and Europe, including Tresor, Razzmatazz, Art of School, Utopia, Sala Loops, and many more. As a producer, he has been on an absolute tear, dropping ep after ep across every prestige labels worldwide. This list includes MORD, Kazerene, PoleGroup, Edit Select, Faut Section, Newrhythmic Records, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Planet Rhythm, and many more. His discography’s pedigree is hard to match, and his work stands tall as an important and uncompromising vision in a genre that is often derivative and uninspired.

I’m proud to call this talented artist a friend, a comrade in the struggle, and a true visionary of brutal expressionism.

VARIA is pleased to present the next episode in its podcast series, featuring Biemsix.

Biemsix has been making a name for himself through his dedication and creative nous, driven by a deep passion for dance music. Immersed in his local scene from an early age, he began attracting attention as he evolved towards a cleaner, more techno-oriented sound, shaped by the clubbing scene. Over time, Biemsix became an esteemed figure in the music world through his productions. Since his first release in 2011, he has showcased his talent with widespread recognition, developing his signature sound across different musical styles.

His most acclaimed works have been released on some of the most respected techno record labels, including Ben Sims’s Symbolism, Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records, and Scuba’s Hotflush. In 2021, he released his first album, Find Your Own Meaning. A few years later, James Ruskin and Ryan Elliott contributed remixes of two tracks from the album.

This episode continues VARIA's mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.
