For our third show (which aired on NYC's MyHouse Radio on Monday 20th January 2020) we handed over the whole two hours to our dynamic duo and jewel in the BLD crown, Pookie Knights.

Hailing from Wrexham in Wales, Pookie Knights have been with us from the very early beginnings of Black Light Disco and are firmly part of the BLD family. To see these two play live is an experience that shouldn't be missed. Their sets are always full of raw, disco energy and that energy has translated seamlessly into their own productions. With their first release out on Spin Cat Music, it's only a matter of time before you'll see Pookie Knights topping the likes of Juno and Traxsource download charts.

Airing on MyHouse Radio on Monday 17th Feb 2020, the Black Light Disco Show brought in the big guns for this one. For the two hours we had the dream team up of Goz followed by Pookie Knights. For the first hour Goz showcases new music and promos from the likes of Castle Queenside, Hotmood, Sleazy McQueen & Vagabond Social Club, Onda Cuts, Souldynamic and Get Down Edits. For the second hour, Pookie Knights dig deep into the darkest recesses of the Discophere with tracks from Hubie Davison, Luther van Dross, Munky Fike and Duck Sauce, with a spotlight feature on two tracks which are ringing their bells from DJ Delivery and Rosso.

Another fantastic Black Light Disco show on www.myhourseradio.fm on Monday 12th April 2020. Not only did we have the Pookie Knights lads laying down some serious disco grooves for the first hour (including cheeky drops of their own reworks), for the second half of the show we had the cherry on top of all cakes, a very special guest mix from none other than Monsieur Van Pratt! 

MVP - aka Jesùs Rodrigez is a musician, producer and DJ from México whose talents seem to know no bounds. Jesùs is also the label owner and head honcho of the super-cool @superspicyrecords. This label has been extremely important to Black Light Disco so it was our absolute pleasure to have Jesùs on the show. The way MVP mixes vibes from the late seventies disco, eighties funk and the catchy rhythm of jazz, creates a very unique sound and very groovy atmosphere. He has been performing all around Mexico in several cities, clubs, parties and stages, having the chance to share scenario with major names on the music industry such as James Richardson (MGMT), Thris Tian (Boiler Room), Jupiter, Thieves Like Us, Vagabundo Club Social, Hotmood, The Funk District, Mike Simonetti, Gledd, Clubz, Shiro Schwarz, and so many more. Black Light Disco Monday 12th April 2020 - Pookie Knights & Monsieur Van Pratt (Special Guest Mix)

The Black Light Disco show which aired on New York's www.myhouseradio.fm on Monday 15th June 2020 was a rip-roaring, no-holds barred ultimate tag team event from our residents who should be presidents, Pookie Knights. 

The Dynamic duo from Wales took over the show for the full two hours and gave an absolute masterclass in fizzing disco, funky ear worms and quality, groovy reworks that had us mere mortals begging for more. The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
