What a special treat this show was! First up on hosting duties we had an original Disco Walton, Ken Avalon of Discoholics Anonymous @discoanon. Ken is a well respected DJ/producer and  radio host from Denmark. He has a huge following and his successful long running show, Hot to the Touch, on Prime Radio helped inspire the some fellow DWs to start their own shows. Ken has impeccable taste combining old & new and every mix is a journey & educational.

Our very special guest this week is Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic. We're all massive fans of Delfonic and we're super excited to have him join us on our show. Based in Berlin, Delfonic runs Illegal Jazz Records alongside Toy Tonics honcho, Kapote  as well as A&R/ Label Manager at wordandsound/whatpeopleplay.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Delfonic, is as versatile and informed a DJ as they come. Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. Ep. 1 (6.10.23) - Passion Ibiza Radio

The Black Light Disco Show festoons the My House Radio airwaves with donking, fonking protoplasm - seeping out of your speakers and causing a slip hazard.  

This week, Pookie Knights enter the BLD Towers Ball Room for their pre-summer warm up and this week they’ve only gone and brought a special guest with them! 

The lads have smuggled Ben-Banjo Field into the BLD Ball Room in a purpose build suitcase to get him past the ever vigilant Towers Security. Ben is a friend of the show and is also the head honcho at The Discography Lessons - a record label aimed at raising money for mental health causes through the power of music. Ben will be taking us through the first hour with a gloriously summery mix full to the brim of good time tunes.

ABOUT LENZZ:
At the age of 12, Lenzz came into contact with House music and got his first lessons behind the turntables and has been a fanatical DJ and record collector ever since.
That he likes to color outside the box can be seen in his colorful varied record collection. He likes variety and surprises and you can hear that in his DJ sets. The only criterion he sets for his DJ sets is that it must be danceable
Lenzz co-founded QH Radio an online radio station that was prominently featured in promoting Quality House between 2007 and 2012 and providing a place for talent to showcase their talents.
Quite a few big names in the Deep and Soulfulhouse take their first steps at QH Radio. Lenzz also made his first steps in the radio world himself and had his own weekly radio show “New Life” on QH Radio. Where he mainly performed Deep and Soulful house.
During this period, Lenzz plays for a number of years as a resident DJ in a number of clubs in Utrecht and Rotterdam and can be seen at various parties and festivals.
After a break of a few years, Lenzz has picked up his passion for making radio again and is leading the way with his 2-hour radio program Lenzzie's Nu-Grooves, which is broadcast on 24Disco and Dreamstreamradio and appears weekly on Soundcloud. In Lenzzie's Nu-Grooves he mainly plays the latest funky and groovy house and disco edits.

Playing music that encourages the stiffest of bodies to wiggle to the beat - bouncing from funk to house but always finding her home at disco. Her sets are frisky and full of life. Ep151: Feel Good Friday Show (feat Miss Frizzle)

for this one I decided to mix things up a bit, indulge myself and do the whole two hours myself! So we went on a little journey, some moody slow mo, hip hop, funk and soul, into some boogie, a bit of a jazzy section the building up into some housier territory to finish on a couple of bangers. Very enjoyable it was too, except the full, double USB/ XDJ crash about 25 mins in. I've spliced it together as best I can so you don't have to listen to the awkward silences!

Funkier Radio Episode 110 - Even Funkier two hour special

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
