And for this week's guest mix, we were delighted to welcome Alejandro Cacciola aka DiscoRocks. Ale, originally from Buenos Aires now residing in Miami, is a prolific DJ and producer, with a huge array of quality and respectful edits on his bandcamp, plus a superb selection of mixes on his Mixcloud to feast your ears on. I started this fortnight’s show with something brand new and unreleased from me, then wobbled around the tempos as usual. Largely kept quiet as I keep getting mic feedback and haven’t been able to sort it out yet. Ended my hour with a nice trio of obscure disco gems up at around 130bpm, in preparation for my guest! 

My guest was Abby Daze, a multi-genre DJ from London. Abby’s mix went in quick and didn’t let up, keeping the energy high and the mixing fast throughout. But she packed a ton of good stuff into this decidedly peak time set. Massive thanks to Abby, and give her a follow on Insta…

The Black Light Disco Show tickles the armpits of the My House Radio airwaves with another sonic spectacular to whet your whistle for the upcoming week ahead. 
 
This week it’s the turn of BLD’s resident international man of mystery (and all-round diamond geezer) Cole Kutz to lead you on a two hour journey of ups, downs, rights, lefts and inter-dimensional jaunts into the disco and house biosphere. With his trusty big butterfly net on a stick, Cole has been busy chasing and catching choice tunes all around the BLD rooftop garden. Killer Boogie #16 with DeGama - MAW Special Tribute

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.
