Nights are coming and going and faces appear and vanish, great plans are made and rarely held up to. While that is the mode that keeps the machine running, from time to time something greater can evolve out this fast paced spare time profession. That is to say, it is a great pleasure to smooth the way for our dear friend »Kleintierschaukel« and his »Blue Elephant«.

A rare species whose origins are found in »Motomia« (A1), that odd place where sticky clocks tick faster than time passes. Still all confusion is lost in the calm whispering of Juliette (A2), a harmony of strange confidence. Despite all its apparent harmlessness, it needs the soothing voice of our all beloved Leonie to let its vast figure withdraw to the rivers and show the gentle nature of this »Unterwassermann« (B1). Back in his element all notches are smoothed out and movements unite in a rythmic flow. This is not a documentary, this is the Blue Elephant: »TV Ende« (B2).

All echoisms aside: We are very happy to have Mr. »Valentin Stip« from Montreal himself contribute his interpretation of »Motomia« (D), a delicate dissection, reunited to a greater interaction of the most gentle kind.

Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle.  Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey.  
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori,  two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

This EP is inspired by the cultural heritage which the Argentines and Chileans seek to perpetuate. Ulises has developed cultural and emotional bonds towards the natives, whose struggles he feels and shares. Struggles for their own traditions, their own lands and their own existence. Thanks to the resistance of cultures like the Mapuche we can now enjoy traditional melodies and instruments, such as kultrungs, charangos and quenas, that Ulises skilfully merges with an electronic timber palette to achieve the deep organic sound that we can appreciate in this EP. 
Uña pays homage to the acclaimed quena player Uña Ramos, from the mountainous Jujuy province. Pewünguen derives from a chant in Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, that celebrates the rebirth of nature in spring. Here, the artist adopts the same chant metaphorically, to wish the rebirth of the Mapuches. 
Musician by formation, Ulises plays guitar, keyboard, and drums. Such multi-instrumental skills provide him with a broad range of sounds to blend and wedge into the electronic beat. Talking about the aesthetic he craves, Ulises stated “I want to have the possibility to choose any timber from any source I feel the music needs. No limits!” …and limitless is his desire to explore the vastness of sounds, to experiment new combinations. 
Besides the original tracks, the EP comprises four gems by Carrot Green, Steffen Kirchoff, Arutani, Coss & Iorie, who remixed Ulises’ productions.

The discription should be: “The Smooth Gardens” is a sensual and groovy track from the brother duo @parallellsofficial and @abundance-live in which they combine many instruments and organic sounds to Thomas from @parallellsofficial' crooner voice.

The EP refers to The Gardens of Babylon movement in Amsterdam, who redefined the music and event experience. It is a family where all of the EP’s artists are part of.

The inspiration also came during Amsterdam Dance Event. A week filled with musical influences. In that sense, The Smooth Gardens is a hymn to dance, where the smooth groove of the track is slowly reaching parts of your body and is leading them to move, sway and dance.

The EP includes two powerful remixes. The first one is from the couple duo @kmln-berlin bringing a rhythmical edge to it. The second one is from @noraj-cue and @undersmusic bringing a powerful clubby vibe. No doubt both versions will shake the dance floors!

With the digital Bonus Remix by Matthew Styles, the tempo gets yet another push. He loses the vocals altogether, mixes in a pinch of ambient and deftly puts the focus on the hypnotic undertow of the track, holding it for a full 19 minutes.

Ouïe Circle is Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s sublabel that provides a platform for the wider circle of friends and artists associated with Ouïe.

With the seventh release, we are treated to five exquisite tracks from a combination of Geju and Acid Pauli himself. 
Lead track Bird Box is a delight - a fidgety, elastic groove sets the tone, while esoteric sounds and textures punctuate the track to create its own little audio biosphere.

The original spans eight and half minutes, and feels almost too short. 
Also included are two remixes, both with their own individual takes on the track. Iorie’s remix straightens up the groove somewhat, becoming a serious midtempo chugger with beautifully realized arpeggiated synths and a bubbling, magical atmosphere. 
Ed Ed (who also appeared previously on Ouïe Circle 03) goes for more of a tropical workout - shuffling drums underpin a thick bass and lush, dreamy pads.

Elsewhere on this release, Geju offers up two new tracks. Monko is a low slung slo mo groove, that mixes infectious percussion with pulsing synth tones and ethereal leads. Anosino also mixes the worlds of sampled nature sounds with heavy kicks and a slinky, unpredictable arrangement - traversing the worlds of electronic and chill out music.

Geju & Acid Pauli - Bird Box

Written almost 900 years ago in Egypt, Mount Horev is the oldest hebrew liturgical poem (also known as ‘Piyut’) ever found. Originally composed by Rabbi Ovadia Hager, who migrated from Italy to Egypt, the song combines Middle Eastern and ancient European influences. Mount Horev, tells the biblical story of Mount Sinai and Moses’s journey, yet it also hides an ancient prophecy - liturgical songs were used to convey deep spiritual meanings as a way to transfer knowledge at a time in history when spiritual teachings passed by a word of mouth, from one generation to the next. Its prophecy talks about the need of spiritual awakening, and the required unity of the tribes.
Jerusalem born producers Gio Israel and OHAD discovered an old recording of Mount Horev in the sound archive of the Jeiwsh National Library. The production process didn’t take long. “The moment we played a beat on top of it the magic all happened by itself, it’s as if this ancient song was waiting to be rediscovered”. 
Ever Since its production ‘Mount Horev’ was played many times around the world, from Black Rock city to the Mexican Playas, and now, for this celebration of the holy days of light, it is presented as a gift to the world.

Roma Zuckerman is in fact the trippiest artist on the label and he is back with a new solo release ‘stage of loyalty’.

Nobody ever knows what is on his mind when recording his next  13 minute long composition at home in Krasnoyarsk but his signature slow mo murkiness and Roma-like mental groove are unmistakable.
‘Stage of loyalty’ does just that but also contains minimalist techno tracks and a wonderful italo-esque sounding anthem „I like you“ that could easily soundtrack a movie where everything is going to be just alright!
