Originally released on February 26, 2012, “Let The Invasion Begin” marked the moment Bleed Electric fully captured their “Future Fresh” philosophy — music designed to sound timeless, ahead of its era. With electronic beats colliding into hip-hop flows, metal guitar solos crashing into ‘80s synths, and ballads like “Gravity” weaving in R&B textures and Pop sentiments, the EP bends genres without them ever breaking. Originally released June 28, 2010 on Altsounds, So Sick captured Bleed Electric at their most fearless — fusing electronic, hip hop, metal and surreal atmospheres into something entirely Future Fresh. From the title track’s blood-pumping synth-guitar to the dreamlike swirl of “IX Rapid Eye Movement” and the industrial metal collab with Kryophere on “Serious Fun,” the EP is both experiment and revelation. Re-released in 2025, So Sick proves again that Bleed Electric were always ahead of their time — prophetic, mercurial, and unafraid to bleed for their art.

So Sick

One of the last songs we ever made together — and the one we chose to name the EP after. Dark and beautiful, it’s both a mission statement and a rallying cry. The lyrics tackle war, global warming, and humanity’s collapse, while also hinting at simulation theory and alternate realities. Always cinematic in scope, this track feels like the curtain call: the last word being “peace,” a deliberate play on master-peace.

It’s not about flying — it’s about being so fly that you’re “angel fly.” A swagger-driven metaphor stacked with biblical nods and cosmic imagery: “the sky’s the limit, but we’re talking martian skies.” This track leans into orchestration — pianos, strings, and cinematic layers — fused with hip-hop beats. Hopeful, uplifting, and larger-than-life, it’s an anthem of self-belief and elevation.

Angel Fly

Born out of a Loopmasters vocal pack session, this song came from a hook that stuck. It’s not about anyone in particular — it’s about sex, obsession, and having someone embedded in your psyche. The lads pushed for something soulful and R&B-tinged, and this became that moment of warmth on the record, offsetting the glitch and grit elsewhere.

One of MUG5’s solo productions, Pragmatic marks the glitchy, time-bending production style that defines Bleed Electric. Built around warped beats and shifting signatures, it told its own story without needing vocals. Dark, strange, and completely uncompromising, this track stands as a sonic manifesto of where we were heading.

Named after those happy accidents in the studio — the wrong button that sounds right, the lyric that comes out wrong but better — Accidental Genius celebrates the chaos of creativity. Reviewers call it a “chaotic collage,” but to us it was pure party vibes: Jock Jamz 2.0. The sound of us vibing, experimenting, and catching lightning in the mistakes.

Accidental Genius

The title track was born out of Propellerhead’s Reason — the very DAW that defined Bleed Electric. A new version in 2009 gave us instruments and sounds that rewired our process completely. From the moment we laid it down, we knew this was the beginning of a new chapter. Lyrically, it’s loaded with pop culture references — a playful shift for us — while sonically it was the start of something bigger, bolder, and undeniably fresh.

A New Reason

"Trinity" was born from the idea of three forces colliding — each member of Bleed Electric bringing something different to the altar. It opens the EP as a manifesto, a statement of intent: heavy, relentless, genre-defying. Built on the challenge of going hard without guitars, the track finally surrenders at the climax, exploding into the only true guitar solo in the band’s history — harmonized, ripping, unforgettable. Between poetic rhymes and stacked vocal harmonies, the bridge descends into Revelation itself — seven horns, seven crowns rising from the sea — before detonating into that solo. It’s metal, it’s hip-hop, it’s electronica and alternative all at once. A first-track banger that still feels ahead of its time, “Trinity” leaves you hungry for what’s coming next.

At first listen, “Gravity” feels like a love ballad — but its heart is much darker and more personal. Written during a turbulent time when betrayal cut close to home, it’s a song to a younger brother who turned competitor, forcing a reckoning that ultimately sent Bleed Electric across the Atlantic. Wrapped in sleek pop production, it became the band’s most unexpected ballad — vibey, mellow, spacey, yet disarmingly honest. Rich harmonies and a Superman trilogy reference keep it rooted in the Bleed Electric mythology, but the track’s emotional core and clean, polished sound set it apart. “Gravity” might be the finest moment in the Bleed Electric catalog: timeless, catchy, and raw in its vulnerability.

“Cry Little Sister” pays tribute to one of the greatest films of the 1980s, The Lost Boys — a movie that embodied everything Bleed Electric stood for: dark, cool, and unapologetically disruptive. Keeping faithful to the original’s haunting spirit, the band twisted it into their own future-fresh form, with rap verses telling a deeper story and synths that shimmer like interstellar travel. The children’s choir was reimagined with ethereal keys, while MUG5’s layered harmonies cut through like moonlight on waves. It’s nostalgic yet futuristic, cinematic yet raw. As the second track on Let the Invasion Begin, it slows the pace just enough to draw listeners deeper into the journey — seductive, gothic, and still ahead of its time.

Cry Little Sister

“Cherry Bomb” channels the rebellious spirit of The Runaways and Joan Jett, refracting their raw energy through Bleed Electric’s lens of lust, love, and experimentation. Opening with feedback and gunfire-like drums, the track weaves between pop intention and chaotic noise, anchored by MUG5’s refrain: “Cherry bomb, you are my cherry bomb, you are my cherry mon cherie.” Siege slips in only briefly with a tiny rap, leaving most of the canvas painted with electric synths, shimmering hooks, and orchestral flourishes that foreshadow what would come on This Is My Masterpiece. Just when you think it’s over, Slik enters with a brutally honest moment of intent, grounding the song in reality. Upbeat, experimental, and unexpectedly heartfelt, “Cherry Bomb” is both fun and devastating — a journey that hits harder than it should.

A brutal collision of worlds — “Serious Fun” sees Bleed Electric team with UK metal outfit Kryophere for a crossover that still feels ahead of its time. The riffs grind, the electronics distort, and the bars punch through like steel. It’s chaos and play rolled into one — serious, but fun. This is where metal and hip hop ignite under Bleed Electric’s Future Fresh lens.

“I feel the blood running through my veins and it’s slowly turning me insane…” Written in 2009 from delay-drenched guitar experiments, “So Sick” fuses real riffs with hip hop lyrical honesty. The hooks — “Save me from this disco, let me take you to the electro heaven…” — became a Future Fresh mission statement. This is Bleed Electric fully realized: alternative, electronic, poetic, prophetic.

Inspired by the Denzel Washington / Ethan Hawke movie, “X Training Day” is the point in The Butterfly Effect where the killer is jolted awake by a ringing phone. What follows is a hostage negotiation with the cops, played out through shifting perspectives: Silk (the killer) and Siege (the negotiator) trade lines back and forth, sometimes crisp and present, sometimes distorted as if over the phone. The result is a hyper-cinematic track, one of Bleed Electric’s classiest and most calculated productions. More than a song — it’s a scene, scored in real time.

X Training Day

Originally imagined for the unreleased concept album The Butterfly Effect, “IX Rapid Eye Movement” is a four-part dream sequence that drifts between reality and nightmare. Each sub-song — Better Than a Weekend in Spain, Hoobanging, Beverly Spilled Pop, and Wooden Shoes From Amsterdam — takes the listener deeper into the subconscious of the killer’s dreams. It’s experimental, cinematic, and pure Bleed Electric legacy. “Bleeding out blood like ketchup, I bet ya I catch up and get ya (I got ya)” shows off the crew’s wordplay, while “Hoobanging” delivers the hardest rap moment in the catalog, with Siege and Silk trading lines back and forth on their Blackberries in the booth, one-upping each other in real time. Surreal, ambitious, and dope as fuck — this is the essence of Future Fresh.

IX Rapid Eye Movement

The second act of The Butterfly Effect and one of Bleed Electric’s darkest creations. “III Chunks of Your Own Soul” soundtracks the moment the protagonist spirals into psychosis, turning a fight with a co-worker into a brutal murder. The middle of the song captures the fight itself, and the chilling shift afterwards marks the death. Its infamous hook — “I’m a psycho serial killa, got you trapped in a maniac thriller…” — is one of the hardest Bleed Electric ever wrote, merging alternative rock aggression with hip hop precision. Uncomfortable, violent, and unforgettable, this track is the sound of losing control.

III Chunks Of Your Own Soul

“Boost Your 1’s” is Bleed Electric’s ode to arcade culture — the thrill of chasing an extra life when your pockets are empty and every move matters. With driving beats, 8-bit-styled synths, and swaggering verses, the track declares the band’s next-level status to hometown doubters. “We’re so 1up, I gotta 1 up” becomes both a gamer’s mantra and a statement of intent: Bleed Electric is here to level up. Siege laces the verses with sharp pop culture nods, while the refrain “We is where it’s at, the new skool lava” flips language playfully on its head. It’s bravado and nostalgia in equal measure — a track that celebrates gaming culture while doubling as a playful flex anthem.
