We invited Stefan Schmidt-Dichte aka @perm-3 for a bit of DJ action, and he came up with a killer mix interlacing straight out pulsating techno cuts with polyrhythmic detours and further minimalist, off-kilter grooves. We also had a chat with the man to discuss studio methods, living in Leipzig and his beginnings in music production.

20 releases! That is no small achievement!
Greyscale wishes to thank it's loyal listeners with a special treat from their founder. grad_u went deep into the archive and has collected 12 unreleased before tracks ranging from 2006 to 2016. This goes back to the time of his very first releases up through to the beginnings of the Mood Series! In those 10 years there is a lot of various sides to the grad_u sound that this highlight's. From powerful bangers like 'Helix' and 'Nuclear Reactor' to dancefloor gems such as 'Biomechanics' and 'DX'. Then there are sure fire winners for the tech fans with 'Vacuum Cleaner' and 'Machine'. grad_u hasn't forgot those that love it extra deep with 'Taip Laukiu' and 'Bounce 06'. There is also a few special checkpoints along the way in this release that will help you bookmark all these great tracks. NSLD'S ANTIDEPRESSANT VOLUME 1 - 90s TECHNO

With the re-release of Phillip Sollmann’s “something is missing”, Dial Records presents a true milestone in it’s 20 years history. Finally available for digital download and streaming along with a limited  tape edition, it is the first conceptual album by the artist, originally released on Compact Disc in 2006. Phillip Sollmann recorded the five pieces  over two years, inspired by a new thinking of sound in space, while studying computer music at the Viennese University.

Besides countless releases under his Techno moniker Efdemin on Naif, Ostgut Ton and Dial Records, Phillip Sollmann dedicates large parts of his artistic life to contemporary and experimental music. After appearances on several Eps, such as “The Pyramid Drift” (Dial Records, 2009), collaborations with John Gürtler (“Gegen Die Zeit, Sky Walking, 2015”), Konrad Sprenger and Oren Ambarchi (“Panama / Suez”, 2018) and his solo project “Monophonie” (2017-2020), Phillip Sollmann currently works on the Modular Organ System. Here again he improves a very specific approach to drone composition, a practice that started with the cyclical & shimmering tones of  “something is missing”.
