…this is another song written with pro-writer-types at a song-retreat put on by Ed Roland..TAWGS again, and Dwight Baker (Kelly Clarkson/Bob Schneider)….theoretically it was also meant as a pitch-song, although, when i started working on the recording with Ducky it immediately felt like a "Bleu" song….again, i fully intended on putting this on FOUR, but i just couldn't find the right spot in the sequence for it…it iS kinda over-the-top Beatles- y (not that that's a bad thing obviously)..

Bleu "Save It for a Rainy Day" from the forthcoming "Besides" compilation (Fall 2011)

…i wrote this song with a long-time friend and collaborator Eric Barao…i really loved this song of his "Sugar and Cream" (which will be on his upcoming release, which i did some producing/playing/mixing on) and basically, i suckered him into writing a new tune based on it….if i remember correctly, we recorded everything pretty quickly on the spot in his basement (?)..except the drums, which were done later by my drummer at the time Dylan Halacy (at Tony Goddess's studio in Central Square)…anyway..i always liked the energy of this thing and i think it's a very appropriate title for the last track of this b-sides record!...

…this was actually written as a "pitch song" (for an American Idol winner if you can believe it)…my two collaborators TAWGS (Chantal Kreviazuk/Josh Groban) and Troy "RADIO" Johnson (Will Smith/JLo) are very successful pop writers, and we recorded the initial demo at Radio's church in Pasadena…the pipe organ and piano that you hear on this recording are the real deal, and the vocal was done right in the middle of the church too!…i asked my buddy Steve Lu to write a string arrangement to put on top of what we had, and he really made it freakin' ePic…i fully intended on putting this on FOUR, but i just couldn't find an appropriate spot for it…i'm glad this song is gettin' it's "due" here…

Broadcast Episode One

It's a bit of a peek behind the scenes with this broadcast of The Time Machine Radio Show that we've decided to call "The Social Distancing Sessions".  You've seen television news correspondents and late night talk show hosts practicing social distancing by their segments from their homes with very basic streaming that most of us might use with FaceTime or Skype on our cellular phones and laptops.  It's no different for radio around the world.  Some of us are still going to the radio stations to do our work, while others are not, due to the sheltering at home that all of us are dealing with.  Some of us are essential to the nation's public, while others are not.   Radio hosts Summer Blue, Tanya Teal and Michael McCartney used the FM dial to check in with friends of the broadcast including our sisters and brothers in the radio trenches as guests as well as musical artists that reach us with their music.   New music released and recorded during this time made their world broadcast debuts on The Time Machine, under one of the most challenging historical moments that we are all witnessing.  The aggressive spread of Covid-19 has had 
many test positive for the corona virus and sadly we have lost dear friends and family members.  This particular broadcast includes a discussion with a musician who tested positive and a local television host who tested negative, but still had the symptoms.   The Time Machine did its best to keep things light with humor and music in an honest attempt to communicate that we are all in this together.   Please be advised that this radio program took place before the passing of singer-songwriter Adam Schlesinger, who had been a long time friend of The Time Machine broadcast.    If you're looking for both comfort with some radio companionship, then feel free to join us.

Originally brought together to write catchy upbeat tunes for film & TV projects, the two realized they had a knack for ultra happy, feel good vibes.  With Jasmine's cute-as-heck singing and Bleu's character voices they envisioned a record of idiosyncratic indie-pop songs that invite positivity, acceptance, sunshine and make-believe.  Early on in the project the duo met to collaborate with the late great Allee Willis, legendary Grammy winning songwriter, artist and creative force of nature.  Allee generously offered her own unconventional perspective on the record which culminated in a song celebrating diversity "The Porcupine, The Skunk & The Platypus" which features Allee as “The Porcupine” on vocals.  Also featured on this record are the unique co-writing and background vocals of multi-talented Nashville based powerhouse Lindsey Ray.
