It is also a nod to a former partner of mine who managed to get a real 303 working despite a mate and I spending hours trying to figure it out. Ok, I admit,I have a problem. The last mix seemed to have too much top end. So here's a reboot, with dual band compression. Can I get a "Hell Yeah" or a "Nah. that's shit"? The story remains the same: this track was inspired by the story about Trump having a big red button on his desk (an ersatz doomsday trigger), which he would push whenever he felt like a certain carbonated beverage:) Play loud or listen through really good headphones.

It's a banger and it doesn't come with mash. Reworked, remixed, more variety in the bass line, a snare pattern towards the end (very old skool), vocal sample to keep it rockin'. If I say anymore, I will probably disappear up my own arse, so... enjoy:)

This is the live set I played at Tresor in Berlin, November, 2003. The gig was organised by the head honcho at Framework. I had done a remix for The Aphorism (which Dave Clarke quite liked) and the track "Feeling It" had been released on the "We Pledge Allegiance" EP (https://www.discogs.com/master/1147958-Various-We-Pledge-Allegiance). My "Heaven" EP was due for release on Framework in 2004 (https://www.discogs.com/release/236688-Blimp-Heaven-EP) so this set was a promo for that release. The set also features releases from my Pro-Jex EP, "EQUIP" (https://www.discogs.com/master/719322-Blimp-Equip-EP), 2001. God bless the Germans, for they do love their techno - the harder, the better:) As for what has been done to this recording, it has been run through a compressor, that's all. The flanging you hear in the breakdowns was done live. All the filtering was done live. All the vocals were prerecorded. All these tracks were 8 bar loops, sequenced by two Roland MC500s, synched, and I arranged them live, using my Mackie mixer as an editing tool. Old Skool.

A track dedicated to one of the smartest people I have ever met. Chuck was a pioneer of Acid Techno in Melbourne during the 90s. He was a keen advocate of the "Devil Fish" mod (courtesy of Robin Whittle) which gave the Roland TB303 incredible sound exploration potential. When I heard he had recently passed away, I was filled with sadness. I will miss my chats with him. He was my friend and this tune was written for him. I will miss you bro.

Mercurochrome was used as a salve for mosquito bites when I was kid in Tennant Creek. It stung like a bitch and as I later learned it did actually contain mercury. Which makes this a tune for the Mad Hatter.
