Copenhagen duo Baime released the original “The Damned” track way back in 2017, and wow for a ride it’s been for the two Danes since then!

When it was first released, it was Baime’s own label Blindfold Recordings who did the honors as part of a mini compilation called “Night Vision” (definitely worth checking out again - even though it’s already been four years, this compilation still hits). The track became immensely popular very fast and catapulted Jens Christian and Mikael, the two members of Baime, into immediate stardom in the electronic underground scene. Sasha and Nick Warren were among the early adopters, for instance, and many more A-list names joined.

This remix package honors the original track in every way. The arp you hear throughout the track is kept as a trademark sound on all of the remixes, yet there are subtle changes here and there that lift up the track to the sound of today. 

Ivory makes “The Damned” light-footed and delicate, like raindrops in a forest, whereas Arude has enveloped the track in a tense battle cry from an exotic land. These two versions are almost each other’s opposites, one sounding like nature and harmony and the other like man-made chaos, both with an exhilarating vigor. Matthias Schuell has chosen a different sound that’s more tech-y and dark club themed, something that sounds like everything we miss from late night clubbing and sweating masses of music-hungry people. Thodoris Triantafillou delivers a summer take of “The Damned” with hints of Balkan.

What unites them all is a love for the original track that really shines through in all four versions. “The Damned” had a good run in 2017 for a number of great reasons, but this remix compilation just goes to show how evergreen a track it really is.

Israel-based Adam Ten and Mita Gami have set out to create a journey with their track "Always Fresh." There's an underlying melancholy that seems to tell a tale of struggle and woe, but a relentless beat keeps the track - and thus the story - marching on. It's almost a march of sorts that Adam Ten and Mita Gami have put together. A march with a purpose. A protest. The track serves as an appropriate soundtrack to the many hardships the entire world has had to face recently.

Blindfold Recordings' own Baime spin their version of the track into an outlandish, almost Middle Eastern vibe on the remix very aptly named the "ACAB version." Although Baime's remix doesn't stray too far from "Always Fresh," they've added certain elements that really really underline the ominous feel, such as a police siren sample in the background.

We welcome these two friends and artists already on their way to show the world what they are made of with heavy support from Solomun, Âme and Dixon.

'This spellbinding EP by Greek artist Thodoris Triantafillou serves as a sonic gateway to a new world, with four tracks that are not only for the dancefloor but also for listening pleasure.

It explores hypnotic rhythms and beautiful soundscapes that take the listener on a journey to other realms. He has previously remixed Blindfold Recordings' main artist Baime for the biggest hit to date “The Damned” garnering support from the likes of Amé.

By pushing the boundaries of melodic techno music, He has positioned himself as a prominent player in the underground scene. This is an ode to his versatility not only focusing on the dancefloor but also marrying it with his love for music bringing in complex melodies and arrangement.

The EP shows both parts of his world in perfect proportion between dancefloor and musicality. Thodoris states that both Ritmo and Magic Spell were created in a creative high flow within the same week. He utilized his ability to create custom sounds designed specifically for the creation of these two tracks. Snake Eyes and Return To The Source are recorded later but in the same spirit showcasing his dedication to the soundscape he lives and breathes.

The sounds weave in and out like the toy dangling at the end of the string, like a mischievous mistress luring the hands of unaware strangers or the dice game rolling money from pockets of the know-it-alls. Endlessly, but feather-light, the tones go on while basslines rumble and meet in a titan-clashing dance. And while you might like to waddle your feet in a little two-stepping of your own, this dance is not for you. The beautiful creatures created by these melodies forcefully crash, then intertwine in lovers hugs and push the build-ups back and forth on a date of escapism.

Glass breaks. It’s Cinderella’s shoes - both of them - left on purpose on the way to a much better and much bigger party. The party is this EP Prophet Sun, and all the Cinderellas of the world will dance barefooted and throw their glass stilettos far away in the face of provocation. Prophet sun is the sound of a dainty princess going rogue for the first time. It’s the sound of an army of princesses with hands in the air, lose all inhibition and the notion of midnight curfews. There’s a wave of bass and melody madness rushing over Pete Oak’s little masterpiece on Prophet Sun, and it commands the listener to join and break control. Prophet Sun as a whole is a breathtaking piece of art, but the remix outlines the delicate steps of the melody in an extraordinarily exquisite fashion. 

But that in itself is no wonder when the remix is pieced together by none other than Oliver Schories - a legendary music storyteller himself. The EP is the euphoric outcry of a fairytale character, breaking the rhythm and taking over the night instead of living forever after with glass cages on their feet. This is what makes them free. From Russia with love, we introduce to you Blaktone. Russian duo Blaktone might not ring any modular bells for you yet, but these guys will make deep and pounding waves within the underground scene in no time - no doubt. 

Their debut EP on Blindfold Recordings consist of three tracks, each for different dance floor moods, but with a clear and consistent sound that clearly defines these guys versatile musical universe. 

First up we got ‘Distant Memories’ which is melodic yet percussive and grooving slow builder. Patience pays off and this is no exception. 

Next up we got the hard-on mean machine ‘Blackjack’. This, ladies and gentlemen, is not for children! With a pounding deep and forward moving groove, ‘Blackjack’ is not for the faint hearted and will no doubt leave any crowd hungry for more.

Last up Blaktone delivers a melodic gem that will seduce any progressive-melodic die hard fan. A soundscape mixed of aggressive stabs, percussive textures and uplifting breaks, is what ‘Chemical Friend’ is all about. This is the only Chemical substance you will need for the night.

Blindfold Recordings are set to kick off 2020 with the return of their Night Vision compilation series. Now in its third edition, the Night Vision idea is to capture upcoming and "established" artists to shine a light on all the talent that is hiding in plain sight.

Yubik leads the way with 'Haunted Mirror’, a deep, dark and moody production that sets the tone of the Blindfold Recordings family. Ivory brings the rolling hats and echoing melodies with ‘Montauk’ before label co-owners Baime up the energy further with ‘Helion’. Arude offer up a trippy progressive cut with ‘Illusion’ driven by pulsing bass and warped chopped vocals, followed by the second half of Blindfold Recordings, Pete Oak, with ‘Lokye’, a mesmerising piece that rolls throughout with rich vocals provided by the main man himself and surging synths. ‘Vultora’ by Luegoh is the penultimate offering, featuring rattling percussion and darting lead lines, the perfect pathway to ’Samhain’ by Innacircle, who once again lowers the tone with warehouse worthy drums and eerie top lines. A track that caused quite the rumble when debuted at the 2019 Fusion Festival.
