Mystic is the second in the Photosynthesis line of Kontakt libraries, an ambient cello library aimed at film/game composers, producers, and musicians who need otherworldly pads and soundscapes, unique cello articulations, and creative instrument effects.

Alongside the processed instruments are raw solo cello articulations. This isn't a standard cello library, so there's no legato or staccato patch, but rather unique playing styles like artificial harmonics, harmonic tremolos, sustained ricochets, sul ponticello, harmonic glissandos, and more.

This song was composed for New Belgium Brewery's light beer called "Skinny Dip." The song was used for the brand's identity for a year and was featured in their "Skinny Dip for A Cause," short film. The film's impetus was/is to save several different rivers from being developed or dammed.

It was really fun to record this mini-song which was designed to roll with the end credits of a film called, "Charades." The voice was provided by Jennifer Cooper, with musical & compositional assistance from Marcus Lawyer (both of whom reside in Austin, TX) . The short film was written and directed by Shiraz Jafri, and is a really fun & funny watch. Creating and recording this tune was equally as fun!
