Diving duck blues🌼

Like so many blues songs, its roots go way back. This one stems back to 1929, and was first recorded by Sleepy John Estes. However this rendition by Taj Mahal and Keb Mo has my heart. It takes me to a whole another dimension. I can picture them playing at any front porch and the sound would still be the same. 

I tried singing the song and hopefully I did it a lil bit of justice to it.

Nirvana - Heart shaped box (acoustic cover)

Whenever I feel overwhelmed and vulnerable I fantasise myself elsewhere. I try to imagine living in a house by the beach, leaning over the window sill just looking at the sun set and listening to the sound of the ocean waves. Ofcourse, my concentration lasts only for a few minutes because my inner monologue ends up disrupting it. I mean, truth be told our mind is a freakin’ war zone; which is why I composed these pieces, so that I can listen to it whenever I need to calm myself down and focus in being present in that fantasy of mine ..even if it’s for a few minutes.

Channelling how I feel, how I think into music is one of my coping mechanisms (like many other artists ofcourse). It feels like somebody took a bit of weight off of my chest. And composing these 3 pieces too felt that way.

  1. outback sunset
  2. when waves collide
  3. dreaming of an ocean view

These are just short experimental compositions so...yes there might be a ton of mistakes in it and I am open to constructive criticisms because after all, all I want is to learn and improve everyday as I grow.
