While we’re less sure about who/what Momios is and why they/it should be fought, the acid and jazz parts of our premiere are self-evident. Fighting Momios With Acid And Jazz is the B1 cut from the upcoming second release of Leicester label, Flat White. Bogota’s Felipe Gordon is the artist behind the record that encompasses a lot of what we like at Bolting Bits: flavours of house, disco, techno and interesting blends of samples and original instrumentation.

The "Deep Fried Banana" EP is a five-tracker featuring a remix from The Last Trip To Gandahar, whose work we’ve premiered before. There isn’t a track we wouldn’t buy on this record, but our premiere is the stand out for us. While the percussive elements cut in and out, dusty-sounding jazz piano samples and a looped acid synth-line staple this track almost all the way through. It’s one of those pieces of music that feel like every part is completely intentional – even the rough bits are supposed to be rough. Felipe Gordon has built an impressive resume for himself recently, with releases on London’s Quintessentials and Berlin’s Toy Tonics, and we’re happy we can play a part in getting the word out on this guy, because his future looks bright. Seth Troxler’s club focussed label, Play It Say It, welcomes a master of stripped back and dubbed out tech grooves in the form of Seb Zito, while Fuse boss Enzo Siragusa steps up to remix. 

A core part of the world-renowned Fuse party crew, Zito's distilled productions are perfectly functional, boasting the sorts of subtle charms that make them truly irresistible to legions of dancers. His warm sound has landed on the Fuse and Infuse labels as well as Rawax and Kaoz Theory. He runs his own Seven Dials label and is as revered for his resident sets in London and Ibiza as he is his studio sounds.

The excellent ‘On It’ opens things up with tightly coiled drums, adorned with bumping kicks that immediately get you moving. A soul infused vocal brings plenty of cool to the track whilst dreamy pads add warmth and depth. A dub is also included in the package for those darker, late night sets. Both versions are sure to become club mainstays. 

Remixing is Enzo Siragusa, the man behind the internationally renowned Fuse brand and a driving force in the contemporary house and techno scene. He DJs around the world, hosts parties across Europe and is known for digging deep. His version is more zoned out thanks to the swirling pads, with the orignal's vocal coming at you in a dreamlike fashion, as the knotted bass hammers home the groove. 

This is an essential release that is sure to go on to big things this summer.

JVXTA popped up on our radar this year with some tasty morcels on Clipp.Art, Homage and his own imprint Hardmatter. Now he's joining up with the Lobster Theremin guys with a beaut of an EP on their Distant Hawaii sub-label. We're showcasing the brilliant SS Anne that's fused two firm favourite samples into a late night burner thats as elegant as it is bumping. As soon as we heard this we knew it would had to get it up on SB channels ASAP!

Second release on Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’s Hot Creations label is the first release by hot new talent Robert James. A burgeoning producer, way ahead of his game who will soon be familiar for his insanely infectious music, not least for ‘Sleep Moods’ his debut EP.

‘Sleep Moods’ is the type of record that you never want to end. Drilling into the mind with rattling bells, rolling bass and echoed calls of ‘go deep… all night… no sleep’. This is an unstoppable dancefloor gem, catching your attention from first listen and leaving you wanting more. As ‘Sleep Moods’ breaks into its groove through haunting sirens and dark rave stabs that keep the energy levels stoked up, it leaves no doubt that Robert James is an original and skilled new artist.

On the flip ‘Connected’ is another explosive original, crackling with kickdrums and sharpened with supernatural synth stabs. In a similar vein to the sound of Jamie Jones, the Hot Creations label creator, you can see where these two producers have found common ground.

Completing the package, Parisien house afficionado Dyed Soundorom takes on a remix of title track, ‘Sleep Moods’. Producing a stripped back dubby version that works at any point of the night, a skill that Dyed has become renowned for. Dyed has been part of the Freak n’Chic crew for many years and has also released on Crosstown Digital Rebels, Spectral, murmur and Supplement Facts.

Toman delivers a three track EP, consisting of his signature stripped backed production, fused with his dynamic bubbling housey basslines, over his high quality complex percussive edge. ‘Feel For You’ kicks things off with an energetic feel and is a more upfront track, while ‘Guarulhos’ tones things down with a floaty, deeper feel.
