C Powers operates out of a terminal running P Klang G13 creator engine on 69xo, blasting her block-rocking pig-smashing beats straight to mp3 and often in one or less takes, live direct out of Portland but globally present and cybernetically ubiquitous. CH Rom is headquartered in NYC and performs content creation with a refurbished organic matcha-truffle hybrid 96kbps system, playing upwards of 4200 notes a day.

Together they are Pump Media Unlimited, widely celebrated in the bass drum scene and known for blistering tempos reaching as high as 420, even 1213 BPM. The Pumps are at once profoundly in touch with the ancient history of bass, and yet notably 65 million years ahead of their time.

Each of their records is as much a statement as an adventure, and “Chessy!” (Itals, not quotes) is no exception. There’s something for everyone here—like crunchy vapor bass? around the time we were approached for potentially participating in the resistance edition of rave cafe, resistance has been a topic we have been often talking about so we felt naturally compelled to take a shot at putting together a mix for this project. we put together a story using speeches and music we have collected over the years that addresses our thoughts and emotions behind the topic of resistance. 

we wanted to address our thoughts on how we can practice resistance in a complex world that implements systems designed to keep us conditioned and brainwashed. When a place is heavily polluted or exposed to high amounts of radiation, heavy metals, and toxins - sunflower fields are planted as they absorb the toxins and clean the air that's been polluted, we wanted to symbolize the detoxification of the world from its pollutants.
