We are excited to present on our weekly podcast series 008, lead by Scotish Dj and Producer, Glasgow based artist, Modēm.

Modēm has been crafting his sound since a while giving result onto power percussive rhythmic grooves which can be appreciated in his productions.

He debuted presenting class EP, “Hypnotism [INFR002]” on @influencedrecords which was undoubtedly an amazing starting point for his career. 
He also has great stuff to be released so keep an eye on him.

Modēm makes up ½ of @outflightglasgow from the hand of Germa, a Glasgow Based techno collective which is constantly trying to transmit class mix-sets. if you don't know them yet, you're missing a lot, so go and check out their SC.

MOD82 series #008 - Modēm

Techno music always was a substance, made of contrasts - it was born in Motor City, befriended man and machine, combined live emotions and technical precision. These features should be the best to describe music from Russian producer Aleks Unbalance. 

He debuted in 2008 and it took a few years to create his own unique style. In his music you can find distinct symbiosis of strong emotions and industrial themes, which is eclectic and conjoins with technically accurate treatment in music story making.

In a series of records, released on the same name record label, Unbalance could realize his ideas fully - this fresh sound was a bombshell and it was demonstrated with his live performance in Berghain club, world’s techno Mecca, only a year and series of gigs in another legendary club Tresor.

When got support of techno scene old stagers, Unbalance proceed to develop his ideas, expanding a verges of techno and collaborating with a lot of significant artists in Rebalance project. Now his discography includes vinyl releases on such labels like ARTS, PoleGroup, Rawax, Solid Groove and many others, he contributed on legendary Fabric series with a track specially recorded for Steffi, who made the compilation.

In his performances Unbalance endeavors to combine a whole techno ages, gives his due to classic techno, gets inspiration in futuristic sound and mixing it with a modern techno wave, which is what he is. His style of performing is so close to his own works and it creates unique atmosphere on a dance floor, no matter is it private party or big rave in Berlin Berghain.

For my return to Open Ground, I had the idea to record my full set and post it online. Nothing can really describe that club, the sound system, the room accoustics, the way everything has been designed just breathes passion and dedication. Just amazing crew and always a treat to come back there.
The vibe there was absolutely amazing, and I guess you really just have to experience it on the spot to really get what it's like. 

But yea, here's the 3h30 journey we've embarked on there this 8th May, and I hope you enjoy it !

For BASEMENT 008, we've turned things over to Holden Federico.   A favorite of the NY underground, Federico holds a reputation both for his comprehensive knowledge of techno's most obscure corners and for his capacity to channel his sprawling collection into DJ sets of exceptional poise and vibrancy. Raised in Pennsylvania, an early fascination with software production led him from live music into an obsession with track building and the limitless possibilities of electronic music. In 2020, he launched @90stechno.redux, an online platform that catalogues some of the finest, and often nearly-unheard, examples of the genre's golden age. Drawing heavily on the Detroit-Berlin axis, Federico exemplifies the focus and discernment of a purist, engaging with techno both as a true art form and as a near-spiritual discipline.

For Epsiode 8 there is my recording from April 5th at the Toolboxxx Party at TheGate Club Düsseldorf. Here you get 2 hours of driving, deep, hypnotic techno, with sci-fi elements.
I was in the 138BPM - 140BPM range.

It was a lot of fun to play with you! Great little underground club, with a super sound system! 
The great event was organized by HWRD with his series Toolboxxx, very warm welcome and sweet crowd!

Blasha & Allatt, the incendiary duo behind Manchester’s infamous Meat Free series, are regular guests at Blitz with their signature strain of bold, groove-driven Techno. This Blitz Live recording captures their electrifying set from early March – the pair stepped in to cover an additional hour after our residents Glaskin had to cancel their live set due to illness. The result? A extended, three-hour powerhouse session, ready for you to relive in full.

@philippapacho is like a musical Swiss knife: she has exactly the right tool for every occasion, from warm-ups to peak time to wonky afters. It was a long residency at Under Bron in her native Stockholm that equipped her with those skills, and since moving to Berlin, she's gone on to make her mark across Europe playing all forms of techno. Late last year, Pacho launched her own label Phorum Records as a further extension of her sound, and she also curates tracks and parties under the Positive Source banner.

This August, Pacho joins us at Amsterdamse Bos for Dekmantel 2025 but first serves up this deeply cerebral trip into Millsian techno. It's a high-speed selection of sleek and synth-laced sounds rich in narrative, be that mind-melting urgency, more dark and moody undercurrents or a sense of cosmic unknown. Utterly timeless and effortless classic, this is techno in its most futuristic form.

Antonio de Angelis, dj, producer in constant evolution, is always looking for new targets and more challenges, experimenting uncommon paths and inventing innovative languages. Eclectic, creative, curious and involving, has a unique style which transmits passion and adrenaline, dreams and emotions. His sets are marked by the art of sound manipulation and style pollution, challenging standards and prejudices, playing wisely with technology and everything that enables him to change and produce music reworks. Antonio dosn t aim to classify his sound within precise boundaries, but its quite easy to perceive strong house roots with contemporary techno and deep inflections. 
Antonio De Angelis was born in the south of Italy in 1980, in 2000 he moved to London and he has become one of the few Italian artists emerging in the electro music in the UK... He started his career with the name of Toni D and he has steadily worked with many international artists and labels.. In summer 1999 Antonio moved to Ibiza where his passion for music got stronger, and in November 2000 he moved definitely to London where with his huge and genuine passion for music he managed to Dj in the best parties in London, at fabric, One more, T bar, Half baked, Minimal hospital, Zum, etc Like this he became Dj resident at Kubicle, one of the best after party in the capital. After some releases with the label Safari, he met Arnaud Le Texier, they became friends and started a collaboration.... Also is start new project duo with Arnaud Le Texier called DETECT AUDIO In 2014 label boss Arnaud Le Texier together with his partners and colleague Antonio De Angelis decided to start a series of events in London for the label of Children of Tomorrow.
