Track Description

“Hora Moldovenesca Moderna” marks the origin point of the Cimbal Tanz album — a project that began four years ago with this single track. Rooted in the Romanian hora tradition, the rhythm sits in a mid-tempo pulse, a bridge between communal dance and introspective trance. The piece unfolds as a reflection on parental love, forgiveness, and the psychedelic essence of belonging — the spiritual geometry of home.

At its core stands Emil Jourjou, a Moldovan-born cimbalist now based in Germany, whose expressive playing became the foundation of this work. His acoustic performance breathes through every layer, forming the dialogue between folk memory and electronic vision.

Developed later with Multi Culti Records, the full album was conceived as a dual concept: Side A—Emil’s pure cimbalom compositions and traditional renditions; Side B—my reimagined electronic interpretations, sculpted from his original recordings in my Hamburg studio.

This track is where it all began — an entry point into the modern Moldovan ethno-electronic sound.
