Specimens is the London/Paris based British/Jamaican artist Alex Ives. His work explores the avenues of self awareness & racial identity through the medium of cassette loops, ambient drones, distorted piano samples & saxophone.

Ives has released 4 full length LPs featuring collaborations with the likes of Benoit Pioulard, Midori Hirano & Peter Broderick. His album ‘In The Dust Of Idols’ featured as one of FACT Magazines “Ambient Albums Of The Year”. He also featured on the @0 compilation released on Ninja Tune imprint Ahead of Our Time alongside artists Ryuichi Sakamoto, Julianna Barwick, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Suzanne Ciani and more.
