One of our longest serving staff members @AlexEgan serves up the 13th mix in our Friends & Family series. The set features 60 tracks across 4+ hours and is the first to be filmed live.

Alex currently works part-time behind the scenes on Phonica’s labels and full-time in production for @Ninja-Tune. He also runs a handful of his own labels including @U-t-t-e-r.

Joshua Knox is a London-based ambient music producer renowned for his ethereal soundscapes and experimental approach. He began his career behind the scenes at Ninja Tune and Big Dada, contributing to the labels' innovative outputs. Transitioning to Universal Music, Knox continued to influence the electronic music scene. Under the moniker "knox," he has released several works, including the EP "Long Month" in December 2024, which blends atmospheric ambient with pulsing leftfield house elements. In addition to his production work, Knox founded Some Nights Records, a label dedicated to supporting forward-thinking electronic music. He is also the force behind Black Snow, a platform that curates personal music selections through its "Eternal Essentials" series.

Last May, we invited Leon Vynehall to play a rare 'open to close' set at Honey Soundsystem. There are not many selectors that we can trust to not only DEBUT themselves at a HSS party but also take on a room entirely to themselves. His set exceed our expectations and the recording ACTUALLY came out.

Honey fans know we don't release many live-recordings, but when we do they often have a life of their own (see Jennifer Cardini at Burning Man, Silent Servant at Holy Cow, Black Madonna at Deviants, Doc Sleep at the 9 Year Anniversary)

This set has been on repeat since that May 26th night and after some serious cajoling, Vynehall agreed to release the first couple of hours. Vynehall does not really release live mixes so we know how special this is and thank him for letting us go with it.

The set went on for another 3.5 hours but included some material Vynehall can't have out in the world yet. So... here is an exceptionally good 3.5 hours at one of our traditional Sunday night, holiday weekend, Honey Soundsystem parties in San Francisco.
