Jewel Tones began as a monthly DJ residency for Black women, trans and gender non-conforming vinyl enthusiasts at downtown Detroit's Paramita Sound, pre Covid-19 lockdown.

Jewel Tones Radio provides a glimpse into the sounds and conversations we’re having here in Detroit.

Thomas was Howard University’s first fine arts graduate in 1924, making work up until her passing in 1978. She is an anchor and waypoint for the Moods team, and Blkshine’s mix is the legendary pairing we’ve been waiting for.
