Our favorite weekend of the year is back! The Dirtybird Campout is now 4 years old and gets better every year, and our annual festival of games and friends (and this year, swimming!) wouldn’t be complete with our traditional soundtrack, the “Dirtybird Campout West Compilation”.

We’ve packed in 12 brand new tracks as well as a mix from our newest Dirtybird Player, Steve Darko, who leads off the comp with “Switch It Up”. We unearthed Eli Brown’s remix of Fisher’s ‘Ya Kidding’, and Sacha Robotti & Kevin Knapp join forces for “King Midas”. James Curd makes his debut on Dirtybird with KE’s vocals on ‘Play To Win”, and Will Clarke remixes Nick Monaco’s “Drama”, which originally appeared on our East Coast comp.

Finishing off the musical journey is several new faces, including Pimpo Gama, MDE, n808, and NiQW, along with Lucati’s “Like 17, Lubelski’s “Kaya” and “Waremouse” from Wyatt Marshall & Fritz Carlton.

-How long have you been creating music?
I started to produce at age 16, but the Holt 88 project was created in 2016.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
In 2009, I listened to the track "Chimps" by Claude Vonstroke, I fell in love and from here to here I follow everything of Dirtybird.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Certainly, Claude Vonstroke.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Rocky- A Fighter

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
In Brazil, Kaballah.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
Would not go back, lol

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
EAGLE. The image of the eagle is associated with elevation, determination, overcoming, and victory.

Falls (Golden Features Remix) - ODESZA

We are thrilled to be making our return to the release schedule as we unveil this terrific two tracker from our very own: Ralston. As a producer and DJ, Ralston has gone from strength to strength in recent times, releasing on some of the topper top projects within the bass scene, including Night Shift Sound and Submersive.
This project blasts off in serious style as we are introduced to the smooth and soulful introductory tones of the title track ‘Lonely’. This one quickly descends into a whole different realm of madness as we approach the breakdown, awaiting the crunch. It comes upon us in force as lethal, voice like synthesized LFOs stutter and shimmer in and amongst some really well produced drum lines and a still smooth vocal line, giving us a seriously cool contrast.
The energetic vibes continue a plenty as we move on the second track, this one taking the title ‘Mind Scan’. Compositionally, this one takes a more unpredictable turn, from the super punchy drums and airy atmospherics that flood the introduction, to the super jittery array of bass designs that pounce upon the breakdown, all working in routine to apply a unique sense of rhythm.
As an overall project, ‘Lonely’ represents Ralston’s growth as an artist and his ability to adapt to the modern movements of bass music, without losing his signature energetic style.
