Going Solo is an introspective empowering track that speaks about the various emotions and the questions that fill our minds as we exit a failed relationship and as we work to move on with our life.  The track talks about the challenges arising from the erosion of belief and a loss of trust and confidence, and the nagging fear of being alone again and the uncertainty that this breeds.  As the recovery progresses, an acceptance sets in that perhaps things might have happened for a good reason.  The hope for a fresh new dawn starts to grow as we being to see light at the end of the tunnel and we are ready to move on with our lives.

BLKGMMN – writer, producer, and musician – creates euphoric melodies that engage the senses. With a unique blend of Detroit Techno and Chicago House, his tracks stir the soul, uplift the spirit, and spark imagination within the mind. His latest project – released under the independent JZZLKTRK label – displays an artist who has honed his craft and is just beginning to reach to his prime. 
Born Nathaniel Killins IV, BLKGMMN came up at a unique time in the evolution of music.  The social tensions of the 60s and 70s cleared the path for a creative wave to crest, and by 1981, the streets of Detroit were bursting with the fresh sounds of what would eventually become known as Detroit Techno. Kraftwerk’s electronic rhythms were flooding the airwaves, Paul Hardcastle was playing a keytar in the music video for “King Tut,” and the breakdance anthem “Rockit” was inspiring young kids like Nathaniel to turn sidewalks into makeshift dancefloors, where they practiced handcuff windmills and continuous head spins. But after a friend and local DJ introduced him to Mantronix’s “Needle to the Groove” and “Stupid Fresh (part 1),” Nathaniel knew that he wouldn’t be satisfied just dancing to the music. His purpose was to create it.  
His creativity flourished after the purchase of his first drum machine, a Roland 727, on which he taught himself the mechanics of drum programming. After seeing his newfound passion for music, his mom bought him a Portable Casio keyboard, and then a Yamaha Portasound PSS-270. From there, melodies and baselines started forming in his head, which he would then translate into sonic creations. Around the same time, his love for Detroit Techno merged with a fascination for Chicago House music. Those two genres – combined with his awe for The Belleville Three (Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May) & Larry Heard aka Mr. Finger’s electronic classics “Can You Feel It” and “What About This Love” – formed the foundation that his discography would be built on. 
Unable to pick just one genre, he decided to release music in each category under different names. In 1995 he released his techno/electro debut E.P., “Man vs. Machine,” under the name Nate Krafft on his independent Infra(Red) label. Then, in 1996 he released his house E.P., “Krem de la Krem,” under the name Naquil.  He followed those releases with 2004’s “Cosmography,” an eclectic blend of Electronic, R&B, Jazz, and Ambient sounds. 
2019 marks his rebirth as BLKGMMN. It is under this moniker that he blends his many musical inspirations to form a sound that is wholly his own. His latest singles, aptly titled "A.T.S." (Amongst The Stars) & “Amalgamation,” are a testament to his breadth of musical knowledge and are available to stream & download on digital platforms everywhere.
