The strips of flesh pulled from your body
Flayed for the pleasure of their god.

The disease of astonishment

The Disease Of Astonishment

A shackled defendant confesses her ways,
As the pure look on in dismay.
“She must be freed from the covenant’s grasp,
A child, towards evil has strayed.’’
The sun goes down over gallows hill, 
As dusk pours over the land.
A judgement is made, pointing up to the pyre.
Where, convicted, the guilty shall stand.

A crowd gathers by, the condemned to be tied, 
Upright, overlooking the town.
One diamond tear is all that she cries, 
So gently and absent of sound.
Darkness descends, the void and the stars,
A cold whisper flicks through the air.
The frozen ground glows under the moon, 
As silence replaces despair.

Burn!
Rid her of the evil one
Guide her back to purity
Learn the error of her ways
Cused blood evaporating
Cleansing her of heresy
Suffocating crematory
Screaming pain now fills the air
From this path you’re separated
Let this sentence show to all
The craft is never tolerated

Unqualified, the lawmen bestow.
An unusual fog descends from the trees,
