Im März 2015 brachten wir Euch zwei EP's aus Russland.

Diesen Monat bringen wir Euch zwei EP's von den deutschen Produzenten https://soundcloud.com/polymorphren und https://soundcloud.com/bradpitch, die uns zwei verschiedene Perspektiven auf den Sound von Footwork/Juke vorführen.

Die erste EP in diesem Monat kommt von Polymorphren.
Polymorphren (aka pmp), lebt in Hamburg und ist beim https://soundcloud.com/harlekinsound, einem Label/Kollektiv, welches ein breitgefächertes Spektrum an Bassmusik veröffentlicht und Veranstaltungen in Hamburg organisiert. 

Es hat einige Zeit für diese EP gebraucht. Der vierte Track 'Shy' wurde dem Label ursprünglich als Dubplate geschickt, doch aufgrund des durchscheinenden Stils und des Talents von Polymorphren wurde eine komplette EP angefragt. 

Diese EP ist nun herangewachsen zu fünf Tracks, in denen experimentelle Vibes und Footwork-/Jungle-Rhythmen auf eine einzigartige Weise aufeinander treffen.

In March 2015, we brought you two EPs from Russia. This month we will be bringing you two EPs from German producers (https://soundcloud.com/polymorphren and https://soundcloud.com/bradpitch), showing two different perspectives on the Footwork/Juke sound.

The first EP of the month is from https://soundcloud.com/polymorphren. Polymorphren (a.k.a pmp) is based in Hamburg, Germany, and runs https://soundcloud.com/harlekinsound, a label/collective releasing a wide range of Bass Music, and hosting parties in the city.

This EP has been a while in the making. The 4th track 'Shy' was originally sent to the label as a dubplate, but the underlying style and talent of https://soundcloud.com/polymorphren was apparent, and a full EP was requested. 

The EP grew to five tracks, all with an experimental vibe, hitting the rhythms of Footwork and Jungle in a unique way. Dark and twisted, but still club-ready. Enjoy.

Next up from Modern Ruin we have none other than the talented Itoa with two originals, ably backed by 3 fantastic remixes.

"Darline" is a stripped back percussive roller drawing influence from elements of breakbeat and drum and bass music while
not quite sounding like either. TS Repman's remix turns "Darline" into a tension laden riddim with an urgent stab and vocal forming the basis of the energy. 

"Clap Tone" is the second original track from Itoa in this release and in true and original style it sounds like a cheeky and cheerful crossover dancehall instrumental. 
Sun-People uses the percussion in "Clap Tone" to good effect in the halftime remix, sprinkling it throughout the breakbeats. 

Finally, the Crypticz remix achieves even more minimalism by structuring the same percussion throughout a rolling backbone
and gritty midrange, bringing this five track excursion and lesson in percussion to a close.

The NOUR EP is a collaboration between juke/footwork adventurer BLK MRKS and award-winning creative art director and designer Radim Malinic [Brand Nu] 

During his recent trip to Uganda, Malinic recorded a vast range of moments and encounters in local communities. Focusing on Lake Byunioni and the South-West region of the country, the trip provided an exhilarating selection of chants, local folklore, songs and monologues. 

The audio was crafted into four intricate tracks highlighting both the richness and diversity of Ugandan culture, and the vibrancy of the emerging Footwork scene. Each track is quite different in personality but all reflecting an interesting clash of cultures. 

The tracks have been remixed by a wide selection of producers from all over the world. Russian Footwork edits, wonky 169bpm remixes and club-ready 130bpm tracks... and more.

This project was inspired by the charitable work of Little Big Africa, who provide protected water sources to local people in East Uganda.
