One of the side projects of Denmark’s dark brooding romantics Iceage and Marching Church, Var’s No One Dances Quite Like My Brothers mixes subtle electronic undertones with low-key vocals that are eerily familiar and hauntingly perfect. The sound, the songs, the music are nuanced and raw, yet evoke powerful motifs and imagery throughout this bypassed, underrated 10-track album. Each song, as well as this title track, is worth multiple listens. New wave is new again.
