"I’m Hendrik Stein. A DJ and record collector from Berlin who’s been around since a while now. You might have seen me playing in one of the countless clubs of the city or know me from our Past Forward-Shows on Cashmere Radio or the Ciao Amore Baci Parties which I run with my partner in music and life Frinda di Lanco. 
After my recent excursions into lush ambient and balearic soundscapes during the pandemic years, I felt it’s time to record something more danceable and this is how this mix happened. Since the clubs reopened last year I had some chances to play some more electronic sets in some bigger venues and so I rediscovered some older Freestyle and Hip-House records, which I almost forgot about. After digging mostly meditative and laid-back organic stuff during the corona-years this was a quite relieving experience. So recently I developed some kind of obsession for more danceable Belgian and French synth-pop from the late 80’s and latin-infused House and Italo which really blew my mind. Bringing this together into a mix has been on my bucket list since quite a while and for some reason I always thought this might be a very good sound for the H.A.N.D.s mix series. In the end the recording session happened quite naturally and since I hadn’t prepared a playlist some Austro/German dance-obscurities"

T4T LUV NRG is about to rock your stereo this spring with a sequel to the label’s first release “Raving Disco Breaks Vol. I” (2018). Eris Drew wanted to create a new sound for the second volume of her acclaimed mixtape series instead of simply retracing the pure disco vibes of the original. Setting her sights and intentions on creating a rock ‘n’ roll infected house mix, Eris worked on building crates for the last five years, finally reaching an inflection point—a moment of concrescence—when she was ready to put the needle on the records and let the beats flow. “Rock The House” was born, a concept for Volume II built from musical fragments, memories, and synchronicities. There are no classic Big Beat tunes on Volume II, instead Eris kicks out the jams for this mix with non-stop house and breaks cuts featuring plenty of rockin’ vocal vamps, as well as the likes of Janis Jopin, Joe Strummer, Ramones, and Led Zeppelin—all sampled, scratched and dropped along the way. Both sides of the mix include some of her most personally coveted recordings. To gather these records, Eris spent decades identifying tracks from older mix cassettes recorded by her DJ heroes, such as Terry Mullan and Mystic Bill, as well as discovering many of the featured tracks through happenstance and countless hours digging through dusty bins and YouTube rips. Each of the tracks on Volume II are at least 20 years old—some much older—but fresh is the word here, and the word is freeeesh!

Now, as the snow melts and the flowers of rave romance start to bloom, T4T wants to know one thing…Are U ready to rock right?

This August, we returned to sunny Malta for the next edition of Glitch festival featuring Ben Klock, VTSS b2b KI/KI, DJ Gigola and more.

Samhain XXIV at Tangent, Oct 26 in Detroit. Erika did a captivating under 120 bpm techno set to launch the night, Wata Igarashi was on directly after me, with Mike Servito following Wata and ultimately Scott Zacharias closing the 12 hour party. In the other room the Luv NRG Soundsystem raged as T4T did their thing. 

For this set I took the approach that at this time of year, in the Halloween time period, that feelings morph and change, how we feel about music on these nights is different, the context is altered. What is stern, scary, and stark can be very exciting at this time. What is warm and funky also takes a new shape and can be oh so freaky. I felt an impeding doom in the air and I wanted to channel that into solid sound system experience that was transformative and immersive. A sonic description of another world, the true power of techno. I am extremely excited about the shifting of eras happening within techno right now, and there was so much fresh music that fit the No Way Back concepts, but within a more pure techno language. I was also thinking of Mike Huckaby, who I worked with in the Record Time Dance Room, and his theories that a few amount of sounds makes a record the most powerful. There’s so many thrilling jams with only 4 sounds right now, this set gave me a special chance to explore that. 

Technically I used 4 CDJ-3000s and a Pioneer V10 and its internal effects with lots of layering with a new approach to mixing. If I’m doing something historic, it has to fit perfectly within the sonic context of what I’m playing, and for an older cut that can be very hard with today’s sonics, so I spend time remastering the older songs through my mixer and outboard equipment to give them a way to be played and allow them to glow within this new and living context. It’s all experimental at this point, a work in progress. The ones called QM are an older “quick master” technique that I did with software. Enjoy this journey to the other side.

Coming at you direct from the Little “T” LUV NRG Soundsystem truck radio! All the galloping and rolling late 90s tech step and proto-neurofunk that Octo Octa and Faited blast out of a tiny bluetooth speaker inside the cab of an Isuzu NPR HD.

This set was played live at Envelope Soundsytem’s 2024 Ēostre ritual deep in the redwood forest within the Oakland, CA hills. The intention behind this ritual: 

“Ēostre marks a period of rejoining with queer family and community, and of setting intentions towards the approaching sun-drenched days. We celebrate this ritual to conjure the collective dream, and to see the fractal paths toward our individual dream’s first concrete forms. But dreaming alone can not dispel living nightmares—we must speak our dreams aloud and act towards them in anger. Come, you and yours, come weave your hopes with ours.”
