Alexey Volkov has steadfastly pushed his hard-edged style of modern, industrial-rooted music since first appearing on The Hacker’s Zone label in 2009. Quickly picked up by the French EBM and techno legend Terence Fixmer for his Planete Rouge imprint, the artists are cut from similar cloth, both having found their way from the industrial and techno ideas of their early output, inspired by DAF, Downwards, and many others, to a more forceful interpretation of similar influences not fettered by the mid-2000s minimal vogue or the excesses of Electroclash. Also similarly, both artists have gradually risen as popular interests returned to those they remained behind. Volkov, in particular, made dramatic progress in the last few years, rising to worldwide notice on O’connor’s, Ruskin’s, Mendez’s Jealous God imprint after a string of well-received EPs for Fixmer’s label. His recent work is his most assured, experimental, and probing, bringing his industrial and EBM influences to the fore more than ever while probing the formal restraints of techno itself. Now a mature artist making stunning, contemporary music which is the best in his career, Alexey Volkov channels both modern and classical influences into a combination that demands notice for the foreseeable future. His new release is upcoming on the Planete Rouge at the end of summer 2018.

Alessandro is the head of Mannequin Records and the resident dj / curator of the bi-monthly Mannequin Records nacht at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Since moving to Berlin in 2013, he introduced an array of obscure techno, electro, ebm, minimal synth, post-punk and experimental records through his own imprint. His music production is deeply influenced by the use of analog equipment from the 70's and the 80's. His recording studio, based in Berlin, is filled with some of the most amazing synthesizers, drum machines and outboard produced during that period. His dj and production skills brought him to work with music institutions like Berghain, Tresor, Redbull Music Academy, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, Atonal Festival and so on. In 2019 he started a music collaboration with the electro producer The Hacker as 'Amato & Adriani', followed by a release and an extensive tour around Europe. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Alessandro Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music for labels like Mannequin, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Pinkman and Jealous God. Laying down a two-hour vinyl-only mix of black mess incantatory hoodoo and rough-hewn electronics passed through the grinder, the Swiss jockey plunges us in a smouldering pit of synth-strewn ritualism and untamed psychedelia, where stoned naiads and fauns frantically dance their way to zenithal quietus.
