How to turn a pop song into something completely new? Lauv's hit makes it possible!

A pop song can be remixed in many different ways to turn it into a completely different style. An outstanding example is Lauv's song “I Like Me Better”, which offers a perfect base for creative experimentation. The steams were heard, the idea were born.
Inspiration was in the air and suddenly it was clear where the journey led. Synths turned up, beats perfected - and the remix was ready. A completely new sound, a fresh perspective on a song that had already moved us. Sometimes it only takes a small idea to create something big.

Zach Rowden in an American musician dealing with the acoustic and performative possibilities of the contrabass. His fierce improvisational approach strips away the raw textural make up of this iconic acoustic instrument, rendering a complex timbral transformation of its sound and a complete obliteration of the listeners own understanding of the sonic potential of the contrabass. Zach’s promising release for XKatedral, “Tasked”, is a brutal harnessing of pyschoacoustic rhythms and microtonality through the minimal instrumentation of contrabass and feedback.
