Coming in HOT on Toolroom it's the collaboration you didn't know you needed in 2022, from two of the hottest acts in the scene right now! Blazing the trail is French DJ and producer Dombresky who has linked up with emerging Spanish DJ Crusy to ignite the discothèque with 'El Beso', a Latin House flavoured roller that pushes all the right buttons.

Coming off the back of last year's summer hit 'Do You Remember' feat. Camden Cox, Dombresky has been tearing up the live circuit, performing at sold out shows worldwide whilst sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the scene right now from Noizu, Paul Woolford, MK, John Summit and more.

Crusy has also been making big moves in 2022, having already released a string of killer cut clubs such as 'Selecta' and 'Karma' on our popular Toolroom Trax imprint. Here he makes his main label debut after picking up the attention of heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Claptone, Mark Knight and Dombresky himself which led to this latest collaboration. Mixing seductive percussive elements with a heavy thumping groove and a feisty vocal melody, Dombresky and Crusy have created a certified club weapon!

If you think things couldn't get hotter, then you have no idea what's coming next on Toolroom. Label founder Mark Knight returns with his most anticipated release yet for 2022 and this time it's a truly special occasion as Mark enlists Dance Music royalty Armand Van Helden for their debut collaboration, 'The Music Began To Play'.

An artist who needs no introduction, Grammy nominated Armand Van Helden is one of dance music's most revered figures, with a career spanning 30 years and a vast discography which includes hits such as 90's classic 'You Don't Know Me' to his seminal hit 'My My My'. His productions and sound have certainly transcended the confines of Dance Music, influencing mainstream popular culture. With a list of collaborations spanning Dizzy Rascal to Steve Aoki, not forgetting one half of Duck Sauce with turntable wizard A-Trak, Armand Van Helden has a reputation as one of House Music's finest producers.

On a roll already this year, Mark Knight has firmly cemented both himself and Toolroom back into the club with a string of collaborations in 2022, from 'You Are A God' with James Hurr and Cari Golden to 'What I Need' with RETNA, Mark seeks to continue this trend with 'The Music Began To Play'. Kicking off with a hard-hitting, thumping House groove and electrified bass line that drives the record hard, pushing the mix to the absolute limit. Before dropping into the track's golden moment, sampling the 1979 classic Disco cut 'I Don't Need No Music' by T.J.M, a gem of a record and one that encapsulates both Mark and Armand's love for classic cuts. Together, 'The Music Began To Play' is an instant classic in the making, masterful work from two of House Music's finest showing us how it's done.

Ferreck Dawn's internationally recognised sound returns to Defected with what he describes as an "atmospheric yet very danceable track." 

The Dutch powerhouse has quickly established himself as modern house authority, performing globally while releasing top tier tracks with renowned vocalists such as Jem Cooke and Izzy Bizu. 

'Better' features vocals from Jena Asciutto, a US vocalist who rose to prominence on national television before signing with leading agency Metatone: "When I first heard Jena's topline I was blown away by it. She has such a great voice and I love the delivery and emotion it has." On creating 'Better' with Ferreck, Jena says that the infectious track "touches on a spectrum of different inspirations. Ranging from self-love and acceptance to setting the standard in a relationship. You can have all of me or nothing at all."

With Summer well and truly underway, Toolroom are set to unveil the hotly anticipated return of renowned Glaswegian artist KC Lights, as he delivers yet another classic record in the making – ‘Better Times’, featuring the stunning voice of Merseyside-hailing Låpsley. A debut collaboration for the pair, as they drop a sun-soaked, cut of Disco infused House that will undoubtedly soundtrack the long summer evenings to come in 2023.

A label favourite in every sense of the word, KC Lights is most-known for his 2020 smash-hit ‘Girl’, a record you couldn’t switch off from throughout that summer, followed up by his classy cut ‘Cold Light’ the following year with reputable vocalist and songwriter Leo Stannard, who also appeared on his summertime anthem ‘Daydreamer’. If there’s one thing KC Lights can do time and time again, it’s writing infectiously catchy, timeless records that you’ll hear almost anywhere you go, from underground clubs to radio stations and beyond.

Featuring on the record is critically acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Låpsley, who rose to fame back in 2016 with her debut LP ‘The Long Way Home’ on the legendary XL Recordings. Of course, you can’t forget DJ Koze’s massive disco edit of ‘Operator’, which shot Låpsley through the stratosphere. With a string of huge hits and a voice to match, KC Lights and Låpsley come together on ‘Better Times’, offering a glimpse of a bright summer to come that we’re itching to get into already.

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

Nic Fanciulli's first appearance on Rejected came back in 2009, when he took over "Room 3" of the labels famous Dusty House. This was followed by last years "Together", his co-production with label boss Joris Voorn and today he returns to Dutch shores again with his latest brace, "Movin' On" and "Round & Round."

With "Movin' On" featuring in his brand new and ready to roll 'Balance' compilation, our timing couldn't be better. Perfect for the summer floors, it rolls heavy with Fanciulli's trademark drive and funk. Breaking out the harmonica and letting the divas holla, he drops the bass in the synth-lead breaks before slamming it back for, dare we say it, those real hands in the air moments. The terraces eagerly await.

Pulling no punches on the flip, we have "Round & Round." In typical heads down fashion and with a dizzying display of hats and snare, Nic turns in a floor burning tool that could easily demand its very own room in Rejected's dusty abode. Two strong cuts from one of the most consistent producers of today.
