The Katun is not just a river — it is a living being that carries the memory of millennia. On Altai, it is called the Queen River. Within its waters intertwine the mists of morning forests and the golden glow of sunset peaks. Sometimes it rushes forward with fierce strength, breaking through stones and rapids; sometimes it calms in crystal pools, as if listening to its own rhythm. Its flow unites two elements — ice and sun, sky and earth — creating a harmony that reflects the very essence of Altai. The Katun has inspired travelers and artists, served as a path for merchants, and become a sacred place for those seeking answers.
