Blood Dance is the music of the multi instrumentalist musician, and artist Santiago Martinez. The project initiated in 2012 as a solo project intended to pay homage to artists such as Kraftwerk,  Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, David Bowie, The Cult and Iggy pop.  For this reason the instrumentation was limited to the use of classic synthesizers that were typical during the high period of many of those bands, and an overall sound that brings to mind many of those artists.  In doing such, as one hears the songs of Blood Dance they evoke a sound that is both familiar and new at the same time.  The musical and visual aesthetic of the project also pull from the thriving goth and synthpop scene in Mexico City.  

Although currently based in Mexico City, Santiago was born and raised in both Houston and Austin, Texas and was part of the local music scenes having played in hardcore, goth, and traditional rock bands in Texas.  The live band members of Blood Dance include, The internally renowned Gothic Rock Dj Revenant Murphy on vocal, The celebrated local rock music editor Martin Angeles on Bass, Celebrity Rock bar bartender Kriz La on Drums, and Lithographer and Graphic Artist Castell on synthesizers, drum machine and guitar.
