I played close to 3 hours of my own originals & Endangered artists’ tracks. The trip started on a forward-moving tone with some of my classic work, then it fused to a bigger room sound reflecting my label’s current mood. The night ended on a groovier note playing a few of my latest works yet to be released. Past, present, and future. Hope you enjoy the trip as much as I did.

The Lab NYC is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly afterwork party where we stream the best American and international DJs from the intimate space connected to our Brooklyn office. Mixmag welcomed Brian Cid to The Lab NYC for a deep and ethereal journey through tech house.

For those familiar with the late night and early morning atmospheres of Brooklyn’s underground party scene, Brian Cid is likely a recognizable name. Once the music engineer of choice for artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Mos Def, and Snoop Dogg, Brian then found his true calling in the realm of dance music. After garnering early support from the illustrious Nervous Records in 2012, Cid began to catch the attention of industry tastemakers Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Claude Vonstroke, Lee Burridge, and Mark Knight, among others. The Brooklyn native and Cityfox affiliate has been steadily carving out a place for himself in the hypnotic realm of dance music.

Cid currently has plans to release a mini album on his own Extinct label in December while also working on an album for his new collaborative project with Holmar Filipsson of Thugfucker called Theory Of Light. 2017 will also see Brian release an EP on microCastle releasing in February and another EP on Cityfox to follow. With much to look forward to on the horizon, he’s sure to take to The Lab NYC with plenty of new material to share.

Brian Cid is a Brooklyn-based DJ & producer with a level of musical talent that has taken the underground electronic music scene by storm. With a style that has no boundaries whatsoever, his productions touch upon deep house, techno, progressive house and more, and have been signed to a number of the most credible tastemaker record labels. This catalogue of innovative, genre-defying tracks has given Brian the opportunity to grace the decks at some of the best clubs, parties, & events across the globe, and has led to a DJ Mag nomination for 2017 Best Breakthrough DJ in their Best of North America awards. He is easily one of North America's most credible producers.

The next chapter in the musical journey of Brian Cid is the recent launch of his project Endangered: a deep journey to the eclectic side of electronic music. The Endangered concept is both a record label for Brian to showcase his own music as well as other high-caliber artists he respects, but also an event series that combines music with live performance & art. Also watch out for his upcoming album which will be released on Balance Music, a deep and dark journey through the more cerebral parts of techno.
