Hello Everyone, its time for another Exclusive PFG Progcast! Join us on our journeys around Planet Prog, searching for serious sonic sounds!

We take a trip over the Laccadive Sea today, as we head south and back to Colombo in Sri Lanka. On our last visit we were treated to a gem of a mix, and this week's return is no different. Pioneering a new wave of Underground DJ's and Artists, PFG are proud to present Shanil Alox!

Born in Colombo, Shanil Alox’s musical journey began at a very young age. His interest in music and production prompted him to learn deeper and find new genres, which resulted in the birth of his career as a young producer and DJ.
His talent and enthusiasm towards music soon began mesmerising crowds, where he gained popularity with his energetic performances across the island at many clubs, festivals and parties. His modern techniques in music inspired immense motivation in people to connect to music, aiming to take them on an emotional journey spreading positive energy throughout the community.

It was in the year 2014 that Shanil began his profession in music production,  since then he has progressively improved in music production through exploration of knowledge and mastering latest technology. His music is well known to captivate listeners who attend his performances.

He has also played gigs alongside George Privatti, Luigi Rocca, Matt Sassari, Kastis Torrau and Matan Caspi, and has collaborated and performed with renowned organisations around the island.

Shanil is a self-motivated, professional musician who endures to attempt in order to keep growing as a dynamic artist, while simultaneously expending great efforts to develop a unique style of Sri Lankan electronic music platform by incorporating tradition and his creativity. He intends to spread positive energy, peace and calmness to admirers of various genres of music.

Introducing Yarrik on todays episode, Yarrik is a DJ and producer from Colombo who has been able to touch the hearts of many during a short span of time. The sets he play are usually a mixed bag and this one hour set has really allowed him to explore his creativeness, giving him the space to share some meaningful nostalgic transitions. 🎧🔥

He is a young artist who has taken fully advantage of the limited time reserved given to him in order to explore and step out his comfort zone. 🫠🙂

He began his musical journey in 2020 and eventually found his true passion. Yarrik then moved onto playing at some of Colombo’s finest bars and clubs and slowly started to build a following through his music. 🎵🤍

After 3 years of being in the underground music scene he has made sure to perfect his craft. His sets consist of nothing but pure energy, filled with dark synths and rolling grooves.

Biografía:
Jero Nougues es un Dj y Productor oriundo de Argentina nacido en el año 1993.
Desde muy temprana edad se vio atraido e interesado hacia la música electrónica y con solo 14 años decició aprender a producir y pinchar por cuenta propia con influencias musicales heredadas de sus padres.
Demostrando versatilidad, Jero a traves de los años ha pasado por diversos sub-géneros electrónicos como lo son el Tech House, Techno, Deep House, Chill Out, Downtempo, Ambient, Organic House y ahora mas recientemente, el Progressive House y el Melodic Techno.
Con una extensa cartera de producciones lanzadas en sellos como The Soungarden, Droid9, Balkan Connection, One Of A Kind, entre otros, Jero también ha sido DJ y host en diversas radios a traves del mundo por ya más de 10 años.
Su música ha sido apoyada por grandes artistas como lo son Hernan Cattaneo, Gabriel Ananda, Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Mind Against, Simon Patterson, John Askew, Mariano Mellino, Tim Penner, X-PRESS 2, Mark Knight, DJ Spen, y Ruben De Ronde.
Profesionalemente hablando Jero ha empezado a editar y lanzar su música en diversos sellos discograficos en el año 2012.
En la actualidad hostea un show titulado ReDefined en la radio americana Proton Radio y maneja su propio sello discográfico llamado Arcedian junto a su socio Jerry Chiu, fundador del sello Droid9, haciendo un showcase de talentos de la escena Progressive House global.

Artist Bio:
Alexandre Chaves was born at noon on a hot summer day out of time in paris. At 8 years old his mother gave him his first electric guitar in a desperate attempt to calm down her hyperactive child but at that moment something much powerful happened. Alexandre became obsessed with music and was sure about its mission in this life. Years later after developing his unique taste for music the young guitar player moved to California to study music at Musicians Institute of Los Angeles where he took his first steps as a live guitar player. By the end of his graduation he discovered the alternative music festivals and got deeply infected by the electronic music world. It took him a few years to learn how to merge the organic and electronic music to be able to express his new musical vision called Day Out of Time aka DOT.

DJ Ruby es el artista underground de música de baile más prolífico surgido de la fiestera isla de Malta, con una enorme base de fans que le siguen incondicionalmente y un nombre consolidado en la industria mundial de la música de baile, principalmente en la escena progresiva. DJ Ruby, famoso por sus impecables sets y por ofrecer un ambiente de fiesta enérgico y positivo allá donde actúa, está considerado un auténtico pionero de su calibre, una persona trabajadora y modesta que siempre ha madurado con la escena. Cuenta ya con 30 años de experiencia, en los que ha obtenido innumerables logros y elogios imposibles de mencionar en unas pocas líneas. 

DJ Ruby es responsable de haber sido una de las principales fuerzas que iniciaron y dieron forma a la escena musical dance de élite de Malta hasta convertirla en lo que es hoy. Durante muchos años, fue anfitrión de innumerables eventos bajo la marca Pure Promotions, marcando tendencias para varios conceptos de clubbing en la isla e introduciendo a múltiples generaciones en la música electrónica de baile.

Como productor musical, DJ Ruby posee una vasta discografía de producciones propias, remezclas, 3 álbumes y múltiples recopilaciones. Muchos de sus temas cuentan con el apoyo habitual de los principales DJ del planeta, y la mayor parte de su música siempre encuentra un lugar en las listas o selecciones de Beatport.


Sus sets de vídeo en directo, streams, mezclas invitadas y la serie de mezclas Prog On con Proton tienden a hacerse virales al instante, recibiendo constantemente buenos comentarios de fans, clubbers y colegas artistas. Miles de personas le siguen en todas sus plataformas de redes sociales, lo que le convierte en una persona muy influyente en la escena.

Como promotor de eventos, en los últimos años ha conseguido que la escena del progressive house florezca de nuevo en Malta. Esto se debe principalmente a su evento anual en colaboración con Guy J, el concepto Secret Series, los espectáculos Open to Close y las fiestas periódicas Ruby&friends, en las que ya han actuado artistas tan respetados como Cid Inc, Stereo Underground, Jeremy Olander, Miss Monique, Subandrio, Golan Zocher y Emi Galvan.


Con una biografía impresionante que puede ser casi infinita, DJ Ruby se ha ganado una merecida reputación que sólo puede resumirse en una palabra: ¡leyenda!
