As winter whispers its way in on the northern hemisphere, we're unwrapping our latest mix, 'Borealis 2023.' ❄️

Starting with the gentle sparkle of organic house, the mix progresses into the world of harder progressive beats. You can hear 8 unreleased tracks in the mix. Six of these will be released on Plaisirs Sonores and are set to dazzle your ears in the first months of 2024. 

You can hear our new tracks 'Black Box' and 'Beyond Spacetime'. Both will be released on January 5th on Plaisirs Sonores. 

You can also hear for the first time the incredible remix of Karmon for our track 'Time We Spent Together'. It will be released end of February alongside the Makebo remix that we've been playing for a while now. 

The second track of the mix is also a magnicient song by Elliot Moriarty that will be out early February on Plaisirs Sonores.

My annual "This Was" series features my favorite tracks of the year from my own labels (Sound Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Future Avenue & Crossfade Sounds). 2023 was an amazing year filled with tons of great music. For this 3.5-hour mix, I had a "shortlist" of 130 tracks, and 36 made it to the final tracklist. As always, the mix starts with some (dub)techno tracks from the Crossfade Sounds label and builds up from there, exploring the deeper side of progressive house. We welcome Brenden Dowden a.k.a Dowden for the seventy-fourth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. 

Dowden hails from Toronto, Canada, and is based in Berlin, Germany. Having gained early experience in several bands as both a guitarist and vocalist during his formative years, his musical trajectory took a decisive turn upon his discovery of electronic sounds fifteen years ago. Since then, he has traversed through a multitude of genres until finding his true calling in Progressive House.

Christina Gavrilova, aka Forty Cats, has made a significant impact on the global progressive house scene. She has been making music for 13 years, and DJing for 15. Christina’s first milestone came with the "Highway" debut EP on Lane 8's This Never Happened label in 2019. Two years later, Forty Cats made a dramatic shift in her sound direction. She has since released on progressive house labels like Sudbeat, Mango Alley, Soundgarden, and PlattenBank ,while gaining support from industry legends such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, D-Nox, Lane 8, Dowden, and Above & Beyond. For April 2024, Forty Cats will start her own label – PURRFECTION – and has already collaborated with artists such as KYOTTO, Ricky Ryan, EANP and others. 

Forty Cats tours globally, and has performed in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Armenia, and Argentina. Christina continues to captivate her audience with new releases, compilations, and DJ sets, maintaining a strong presence in the progressive house and techno scene.
