PREMIERE: Nicola Boh - Don´t Hit Me [SURRREALISM]

Madloch's 3rd Avenue label welcomes Matías Delóngaro back to the label with his debut EP, "Mi Soul". The Argentine producer made his first appearance on the label in 2021 with the "We Are The Future" compilation and has since released several EPs on our Future Avenue sublabel. Since then, he has also released music on labels such as Mi-Sol DEEP, Stellar Fountain, Another Life Music, Nordic Voyage Recordings, Cigarette Music, Dreamers, and many more.

The title track of this EP was remixed by Noble Spirits from Mexico, owners of the Dialtone Records label, who have released music on labels such as Flug Lab, Keyfound, Where The Shadow Ends, Zenebona, and many more. Argentine producer Kalima delivers the second remix for "Mi Soul". He recently released several productions on the label, such as two originals on the "Three Of A Kind EP" and a remix for Mars Monero. Apart from this, he has released his music on labels such as Hoomidas, MNL, Balkan Connection, and many more.

"Windy" is the second original track from Matías, and it received a remix by Aroma (IND), who makes his label debut with this. He has released his music on labels such as Cafe De Anatolia LAB, For Senses Records, Lump Records, and WORDS NOT ENOUGH.

Matías Delóngaro - Windy [3rd Avenue]

A duo with a strong connection to the Proton Music archives, LADS return to the label with another stunning EP. This time with the added talents of Stephan Pokorny, "A Million Faces" sees two original tracks combine with remixes from Mass Digital and Cream. Three original EPs dating back to the September 2017 "Miss Jean" debut, May 2018's "Hagel" and "Stoyote" in June 2020, confirmed the German / South African duo as one of underground dance's most exciting talents. Now returning, "A Million Faces" is a delicate melodic gem that sees a haunting male vocal line play a central role as it delicately sings a romantic verse at the mid-point. Either side, a rolling percussive groove builds supremely with subtle energy as a barely heard loop hints at the vocal to come. Organic instrumentation creates another motif that adds to the sonic collage as a swathe of new sounds, pitched effects and vocal reprise create a memorable and sparkling track. The partner track is once again characterised by a distinctive rolling groove comprised of organic percussion sounds. A stuttered, vocal cut propels "Liberia" to the front of the sonic stage as fizzing pads and a beautifully cadenced chord syncopates in smooth hypnotic fashion. Full of musical variation, "Liberia" waxes and wanes easily as the hypnotic backdrop and swathe of new motifs and effected elements create an innovative an original piece.

With a motto that expounds "music speaks louder than words", Mass Digital is a name that has risen to prominence over a 15-year period and some 700 production credits to his name. From Pacha and Tiger Recordings to Hoomidaas and All Day I Dream, the Serbian artist has carved out a sizeable reputation with his distinctive and finely honed production work. Now making his Proton Music debut, the Mass Digital remix of "A Million Faces" is a tour deforce. Retaining the original's percussive groove and melodic character, an array of new production material is introduced that immaculately complements the work of LADS and Stephan Pokorny, not least through beautiful new piano chords and a strings-fuelled backdrop. Building in energy through its phases, the vocal so central to the original, cuts a recurring theme as piano and strings develop in magnificent fashion.

The final remix sees the return of DJ and producer, Cream. A seasoned performer behinds the decks across his homeland, the Polish artist has spent a decade honing his production skills, at first in collaboration with Deep Fog and latterly in solo guise for the likes of Sprout, Juicebox Music and Strange Town Recordings. A regular on Particles since mid-2014, 2021's "Rubikon" on Proton Music was a notable highlight. Remixes for GMJ & Matter, Trilucid and Andrea Cassino are now followed by a typically energised reworking of "A Million Faces". Infused with a driving bassline pattern, new melodies appear courtesy of a gradually emerging arpeggio. Progressing with dancefloor energy, the ethereal vocal from the original makes an appearance at the mid-point before the fusion of vibrant bass groove, heavy beat and new melodic variations blossom into a progressive house gem.

Sound Avenue wraps up a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of ‘A Fading Dream' by Madloch & Subnode. Originally released in August of 2023 as the lead piece to the duo's 'A Fading Dream' EP, the deep dubbed-out nine-minute epic was one of depth, character and groove. Fully formed within the creative confines of the duo's Belgian studio, it was yet another chapter in Madloch & Subnode's prolific partnership, one which has succeeded in showcasing their inventive approach to composition, while remaining both club-effective and listener friendly. Moving forward, the duo wrapped up a successful 2023 with the October release of ‘September Day', a concise yet whimsical and wondrously dreamy piece of music which was celebrated for its fluttery drum arrangements and airy sense of space. With 2024 now well into its second quarter, Sound Avenue looks back on ‘A Fading Dream', inviting Figueras, Diego Moreira and Ercos Blanka to re-imagine the track for the summer season.

The latest release from Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP welcomes Matt Oliver to the label for his debut EP. On the strength of early tracks such as 2021’s ‘Spirit’ and ‘Missing’, the Brazilian artist quickly caught the interest of progressive music fans. Having success marrying the nostalgic grooves of the genre with emotional melodies and club-effective rhythms, Matt became a newcomer to watch. The next two calendar years would see Matt continue to perfect his craft, and in turn land standout projects via long-standing imprints such as BCSA, Mango Alley, The Purr and Transensations. Now, as one Brazil’s top progressive house prospects, Matt adds RKP to his resume with ‘Collison’, alongside remixes from The Wash and Anton MAKe. 

Matt continues to explore his groovy style on his latest studio offering ‘Collision’. Deep and fluid throughout, it's a framework of warm kick drums and mesmerizing rhythms which lay the foundation for flashing percussion, cross-cultural accents and soulful overlays to create a smooth first act. A darker monochrome of effects adds further depth and space, as melodies open up and push the journey forward, bringing with them a cruising vibe leading into the break. Keeping rhythm locked across the interlude, Matt showcases his keen dancefloor sensibility, in turn building anticipation with clustered drums,before eventually shifting energy into a finale that is equal parts effortless and uplifting.

The first interpretation of ‘Collision’ is provided by The Wash who makes his label debut. As a DJ first, Austrian artist The Wash has spent nearly two decades in the electronic music underground. A ten-year stretch as a DJ would find the Vienna resident programming music for some of his country’s trendiest venues, before eventually embarking on a career as a producer in 2016. The next seven years would see The Wash build an enviable portfolio, highlighted by releases via Forensic , UV and Mango Alley, the latter of which operates as his primary home. With a contribution to Global Underground’s ‘Select’ series to begin the year, The Wash now adds RKP to his resume with a huge interpretation of ‘Collision’. Opting for a dubbier, more groove-centric approach, The Wash aims squarely at the dancefloor, taking the track into subversive territory, as haunting overlays and deconstructed sonics converge for an otherworldly experience, while an acid-tinged break fully saturates your senses onwards to a trippy finale. 

The release concludes with Anton MAKe also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of ‘Collision’. Russian artist Anton MAKe crafts music that is both groovy and musical, often incorporating vocal elements to create a different level of depth and space. First emerging nearly a decade ago, the Kazan resident would rise into one of progressive music’s top tier artists with releases via Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Proton Music, Replug, WARPP and most recently Analog Jungs Constellation imprint. Now, as a longtime favourite of Cid Inc, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Anton debuts on RKP with a groovy take on ‘Collision’. Mysterious and thought-provoking throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for a club-effective yet uniquely rhythmic journey, elegantly flowing through uplifting melodic clusters and hopeful overlays, before a set of fuzzed-out chord stabs highlights an immersive break, perfectly setting up a thumping finale to close the release out on a groovy note.

The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings finds the label presenting a new installment of its 'Technical Progress' series. Conceptualized in 2010 these various artist showcases have grown into one of the underground's most critically acclaimed series, continually featuring some of electronic music's most talented newcomers, alongside industry veterans. With the thirteenth edition of the series landing in April of last year with resounding success, Movement Recordings now presents the much-anticipated fourteenth installment featuring exclusive material from (in order of appearance): Allan Mcloud, Mazzeo Tec, Shayan Pasha, Rudra, Lunar Tone, Stereo Munk and Bohra & Karan Vig. 

The release begins with Allan McLoud returning to the label with a new original ‘Reality Shift'. Scottish-born, Zurich-based producer/DJ Allan McLoud has been involved in electronic music for well over three decades. The late eighties found Allan fascinated with the synth-driven styles which quickly found prominence during that era; a sound which led him to begin producing breakbeat influenced electronic music, before eventually finding his true passion in trance. It was a sound which would lead him to Germany where he began DJing in the country's north and building a catalog full of releases supported by the top DJs of the time. Fast forward to present day and Allan now calls Zurich home where he has rejuvenated his studio repertoire with the sounds of progressive house. His energetic melodic take on the genre has served him well, landing key releases for John OO Fleming's Joof Aura, Droid9, LuPS Records and Transensations. Also finding a home on Movement Recordings, Allan made his label debut earlier this year with ‘Solitude' alongside a remix from NOIYSE PROJECT. Now, making a welcome return to the label, Allan presents the driving melodic sounds of ‘Reality Shift'.  

Making his label debut with the second selection is Argentinean artist Mazzeo Tec. Based in Buenos Aires, Mazzeo Tec emerged from his country's electronic music landscape in 2023 with a groovy tech house sound and releases via Genesis BA and Ride Music. 2023 would see a shift in sound from the rising talent, with a greater lean towards the progressive spectrums of house, and in turn landing an EP on long standing Russian imprint Intricate Records. Now adding Movement Recordings to his resume, Mazzeo makes an impressive label debut with the stomping grooved out sounds of ‘Deeper'.  

Moving forward to selection three, Shayan Pasha makes his debut with ‘Groovetamin'. Hailing from Iran, Shayan Pasha first emerged as a DJ in 2010 where he quickly became a fixture of his country's nightlife, while performing alongside some of the world's top progressive house talents. A production career would follow where early releases via Area Verde, Massive Harmony Records and his own Wander Nation imprint would establish Shayan as a name to watch. 2023 proved to be Shayan's most prolific and successful year to date, notching key projects for Droid9, MNL and Transensations Records, while also receiving play from progressive house icon Hernan Cattaneo on multiple occasions. With 2024 getting underway in prolific fashion with releases for 3rd Avenue, RKP and UV; Shayan continues to impress with his Movement debut and the dark progressive vibes of ‘Groovetamin'.
