Bloomen - Oldest Story

“Total Control of Perception” tells a story in four chapters - a chronological progression of the life trajectory of a spiritual aspirant. Both abstract and conceptual as well as somewhat autobiographical for myself, the four tracks paint pictures of four emotional, spiritual, and subconscious chapters of a single lifetime. The chapters are outlined as (re)birth and dissolution, degeneration into hopelessness, a catalytic spiritual awakening, and ultimately a declaration and recommitment to self-mastery.

We aimed to have a specific quality and atmosphere to the music for this release. A quality that this style of music inspired us to aspire. Through the years, inspirations shift, Sounds change, rhythms evolve, understanding broadens, definition expands, hearing improves... Thusly, we have strived to make something beautiful that hopefully propels this further. And share with you some of our explorations in music. Through some unconventional recording techniques, obscure sound sources and countless nights of deep sound exploration, there is a lot of care and efforts to be discovered within these tracks. The Secrets of Sastrà is the combination which translates into the art of dance created through combination of rhythm with expression. it is complete oneness of soul and body, symbolizes the rhythmic motion of the universe an Active Meditation.

The rhythms and phrases of music are reflected in the movements of the hands body and in the stamping of the feet. It is the purest way to portray Navarasas or the emotions, which includes Hasya (happiness), Krodha (anger), Bhibasta (disgust), Bhaya (fear), Shoka (sorrow), Viram (courage), Karuna (compassion), Adbhuta (wonder) and Shanta (serenity).
