🛖Global Village Tapestry: 

🪴This video was filmed over three years and many countries ... at Ecovillages and Permaculture centers in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Japan, Oregon, Washington, and California, showcasing regenerative alternatives to the conventional paradigm, highlighting ways that humans are thriving symbiotically with their environment and surrounding ecosystems.

✨  Global Village Tapestry is a song that emerged from my many years of traveling the world, living at eco-villages, learning about Permaculture, connecting with indigenous communities, and envisioning a thriving world that's interconnected like a global village tapestry. 

I started recording this song in November 2019 at Studio C in Oakland. This studio is run by Jason Cropper, and is where the band Weezer recorded their Blue album.  

Then I went to my hometown, San Luis Obispo, and drove up to Cambria to the Painted Sky Studio, run by Steve Crimmel, where we recorded my Dad (Bob Liepman) on Cello, my Mom (Wendy Liepman) on vocals, and Sal Garza on Violin.

Right before embarking on a journey to Central America, I visited Makila WindDragon at the Yuba Sun Studio in Grass Valley, California, and gave him my files, and Forrest Caleb Kelly added drums to the song. 

Fast forward almost a year, and I was finally returning to States after having been in Guatemala and Costa Rica for 9 months due to the pandemic! I visited Shane Rilling (Shining Lion) and his son Alaeika in Ojai, where we recorded a scene for the music video to his hip-hop verse. 

Then, in Grass Valley, I visited Makila and re-recorded my vocals and some guitar parts and worked a bit on the arrangement and mixing. Soon after that, I moved to Boulder, Colorado, and have been working with Makila remotely. During that time, Makila added piano and some percussion and vocals, Carey Davoli (Triada) added vocals, Thomas Spellman added Bass, Colin Martin tuned up my vocals, and Makila mixed and mastered the track. 

✨ It's been a long journey, both writing the song, producing the song, and living the adventure that inspired the song. And I'm filled with gratitude to be able to share it with you!

Global Village Tapestry (feat. Shining Lion)

My hope is that this song brings you healing energy, and reminds you that you are a healing force, that your body is the poem of the whole Universe, and that your body is the body of Mother Earth.
  ~
  A note on the content.   This song includes lyrics of many esoteric and mystical healing arts, all that I have learned about from indigenous teacher and friends around the world during my travels, and from books. Here is what I have come to know them to mean:

Icaros: The patterns of the Shipibo people of Peru, found on their clothing, tapestries, and artwork. It’s been said that the Icaros are musical notation, and maps of consciousness.

Songlines: The energetic lines that circulate throughout the world, depicted on Australian Aboriginal artwork as dots making up patterns. It’s been said that the Aborigines sing the songs of the songlines to navigate through the outback.

Meridian: The energetic current that circulates throughout our bodies, often utilized in Chinese medicine, Qi Gong, and Acupuncture.

Dragon lines: Similar to songlines (and Ley lines), Dragonlines are recognized in both Chinese, and Celtic culture. It’s been said that where dragon lines cross, energy spirals into a vortex.

Chi: The energy inside of you, often cultivated with practices like Qi Gong.

Chakras: The energy centers in your body, as recognized by Hinduism and Buddhism, including your root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown. Sanskrit for “disk” or “wheel.”

Kundalini: Sanskrit for “Coiled Snake.” Hindu. Divine feminine energy at the base of the spine. The energy current that runs up the spine.

Arkana: Protective forcefield from the Shipibo of Peru, often cast after Ayahuasca ceremony.

Curanderos: A medicine person. What some might call “Shaman.” Someone who’s main role in life is to heal and cure.

Merk-Ka-Ba: A star tetrahedron that’s believed to surround every being within their aura (personal energy field). The upwards tetrahedron is masculine, and the downwards is feminine, and when they spin in opposite directions at the same rate, the being becomes balanced.

Cosmic Codes: Embodied epiphanies and radical realizations from the universe.

While this song is fun and uplifting, I acknowledge the importance of giving immense respect to the wisdom keepers and indigenous peoples who have cultivated all this deep knowledge, who have suffered and been marginalized for centuries, and who have still maintained their ancient traditions and sacred ways of being. I am grateful for all who hold these codes of healing and transformation, and for the opportunity to learn and integrate them.   For that reason, a percentage of the proceeds from this song will go directly to various nonprofit organizations who actively support indigenous wisdom keepers, such as Arkana Alliance in Peru, a Shipibo-lead activist organization where I lived and worked several years ago, and organizations in Guatemala that fund clean water and food for the Maya, where this video was filmed.

My newest song, "You Belong Here," is a heart-opening, uplifting, and supportive song, reminding you that you are here with a purpose, and you belong here on this planet in this time in the body you are in, so breathe in, and breathe out Love, because Love is what you're made of!

This song was recorded in a mobile studio by Milo Matthew at the Unify Festival near Santa Fe, New Mexico at the Chi Center. Bloom on vocals, guitar, and beatbox; Milo on Bass and production; and Anna (Anahata) Combi, Chad Wilkins, and Proshad! It was recorded and produced in less than two hours, so it's a demo version! Polishing and more recordings coming this fall!

You Belong Here

Robin Liepman (Bloom) is an earth activist musician and new paradigm pollinator. His soul's purpose is to actively re-weave the dream of the modern world into a vibrant, harmonious, regenerative and equanimous existence.

Bloom was born from the warm coastal womb of central California in San Luis Obispo, educated by the fairies and tree people at the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science, (and a special focus on life, the universe and everything,) and initiated into the intergalactic tribe of awakening beings during his six months of travel through Central America, becoming initiated into the modern day mystery school via volunteering at an endless stream of transformational festivals. He then went on a spiritual pilgrimage through Peru and Bolivia, emerging with a strengthened sense of life path and purpose, re-visited Costa Rica, and is now on Vancouver Island in Canada for his Permaculture Design Course/Earth Activist Training with Starhawk and friends.  

He is a co-founder, co-organizer, and co-creator of the "Blooming Biodiversity" permaculture tour, which in the Fall of 2015, toured the North American West Coast with a team called “Solutionary Productions." It was a journey of healing the world through holistic integrative permaculture activations worldwide. The tour has taken him to Hawaii, and currently, to Peru, where he is planting gardens and working with Shipibo children through the Arkana Alliance organization
